Sadie Hobbs

CIS 110
Sydney Hobbs is the first person that I interviewed. She is currently a 4.0 student at the
University of Kentucky, majoring in Dietetics. Sydney not only has accomplished my
goal of getting a 4.0 but majors in dietetics, which I am considering minoring in.
a. Have you always wanted to be a dietitian?
a. My interest in dietetics started to develop in high school.
b. What keeps you motivated to be a dietitian?
a. My passion for nutrition and helping people keeps me motivated.
c. What skills do you possess that have helped you make it thus far?
a. My dedication and compassion help me to stay on task.
d. What prior knowledge do you wish you would have known?
a. I wish I would have known that dietetics involves a great deal of science. I
had not anticipated the depth of chemistry and biology knowledge that I
would need to be a successful dietitian.
e. What is your future plan after undergraduate?
a. I will start my dietetic internship in January and finish in August. I will
then apply for entry-level registered dietitian positions. Within the next
five years I hope to attend graduate school with a focus in integrative
medicine and nutrition.
f. What is your main goal in order to be a successful?
a. My main goal is to pass my RDN exam. This exam will provide me the
RDN credentials I need to practice as a registered dietitian.
g. Do you believe that this is your calling?
a. I do believe that being a RDN is my calling. My life experiences led me to
this career, and I dont think that is something I can ignore.
h. Have you ever considered changing your major?
a. I have never considered changing my major.
i. What benefits will come from majoring in dietetics?
a. I will be able to help individuals reach their optimal level of health.
j. Are you satisfied with where you are at now?
a. I am satisfied with my current position. I have worked hard to be where I
am today, and I am happy with my level of success.

The second person I am interviewing is Thomas Kirkpatrick. This young man is a good
friend that possesses great characteristics. I have learned a lot form him and I see he has
touched base with some of my goals and how to achieve them.
1. What is your major and why have you chosen this major?
a. Electrical Engineering; aptitude for math, interest in electronic circuits.
2. Before choosing this majoring did you consider something else?
a. Yes, mathematics, computer science, and architecture.
3. What are some things you wish that you would have known before majoring in
this?
a. Work experience really does improve your education. I wish I would have
worked with more companies and experienced a wider array of projects.
4. What is your greatest accomplishment so far?
a. Learning how to open my mind.
5. What skills do you believe are most valuable?
a. Communication skills, professionalism, ability to learn quickly, and
insight.
6. What do you suggest getting involved in?
a. Volunteer service projects, internships related to the field you find
interesting.
7. What are your futures plans?
a. Obtain my MBA through UKs dual degree program, work as a full-time
power systems engineer.
8. What would you like to improve on?
a. Leadership abilities and interpersonal communication
9. What is your greatest quality?
a. Ability to understand complex ideas.
10. If you have any advice, what would it be?
a. Dont avoid something just because it seems like you wouldnt like it.
Give everything a try, and even if it is horrible, use the experience to learn.
