STEAM Team Leadership Reflection

This semester I served on the STEAM leadership team along with
several others. The STEAM team is responsible for the impact the 840
twitter account, keeping students and teachers updated with
technology projects and resources, and the big event this semester
was STEAMapalooza. This event was a school wide event where
teachers and students were able to come to Trace with their families
that night and learn about the importance of engineering and how
things work. The STEAM team worked closely with Mrs. Stone and Mrs.
Joiner to help make STEAMapalooza happen.
I have also had the opportunity to work with Annie Walker, Emily
Freeman and MK Gates to help raise money for a student to go to
space camp in the Spring. We have been campaigning in our sorority to
help get a part of Samford involved in helping the students out at
Trace. The STEAM team is very much about bringing the Trace
Crossings community and Samford community together and raising
money for a child to attend space camp is just one great way to do
that. We passed around a small container for the girls in our chapter
just to drop their loose change in, and a little change has gone a long
way. We are going to continue to try and do this next semester as well

to see if we can send one (or maybe more) students to space camp.
We want them to have the best experience and not miss out on this
awesome opportunity.
