Abou El Azayem, Gamal, and Zari Hedayat-Diba. "The Psychological Aspects of Islam: Basic
Principles of Islam and Their Psychological Corollary." International Journal for the
Psychology of Religion (1994): 41-50. Print.
This article can be summarized as a piece that gives us the basis of Islam and all the
different religious acts that they have to follow for their god Allah. This article tells us
many different things about the religion such as the origin of how it became the religion it
is now and many other religious acts that separates the region Islam from other region. It
talks about the Quran and all of the acts that Muslim people are supposed to follow.
This article is very helpful to me as I wanted to know all of the basic aspects of Islam and
what it is and what the Muslim people have to follow. I always wanted to know about the
fasting, and five prayers a day that the Muslim people are supposed to follow and this
article talks about how it is mentioned in the Quran and many other aspects of the Quran.
It also talks about how Islam is still seen in many stuff people such as divorce and
depression and it helped me understand as to why many people have turned to Islam and
why it is as big as it is.
I think this is a credible source as I found this in the UNC-Charlotte librarys website and
it was located in the ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials.

Caschetta, A.J. "Does Islam Have a Role in Suicide Bombings." Middle East Quarterly 22.3.
Print.
This article is based on a question if Islam actually has a part on suicide bombings or if
its just extremists that hate America. This article first starts off with giving us quotes on
the Quran which does not approve of acts such as suicide bombing. The article then
starts to talk about how we should first find out if these Islamic suicide bombers are sane
before taking religion into the question. This article as a conclusion states that before
claiming Islam as the culprit for suicide bombers. People should look at many other
aspects of the bomber that can cause a person to do that.
This article answered one of the most important questions that I had which was: How do
extremists use religion as their scapegoat toward violence? This article helped me
understand that there are many things to take into effect when something as big as suicide
bombings occur, and shouldnt pick a thing such as religion to be the main reason for
such a heinous act.
I think this is a credible source as I found this in the UNC-Charlotte librarys website and
it was located in the Academic Search Complete database.

Rane, Halim, and Jacqui Ewart. "Reflections on 9/11: Australian Muslim and Non-Muslim
Responses 10 Years On." Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs 33.2 (2013): 155-70. Print.
This article was talking about a research on where they interviewed Americans and
Muslims on their feeling toward 9/11. This article first began talking about the reaction of
Americans when 9/11 occurred and how the media put the thought of Muslim people

were terrorist. This article then began to talk about how many Muslim people between the
ages of 25-44 were being targeted by the media of being terrorists. The article sums up
the fact that Americans and Muslims all over the world had a shock in their face when
they heard the news of 9/11.
The catastrophic event 9/11 is one of the main things that people incorporate the religion
Islam with. Since many believed religion to be the main reason for this act, anything that
can disprove Islam as the evil religion that many think of it to be can help. I also had
questions regarding if Islam plays into 9/11 and while this doesnt directly answer that, it
gives me many valuable information that can be used.
I think this is a credible source as I found this in the UNC-Charlotte librarys website and
it was located in the ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials.

Skreslet, Paula. "Basic Primary Sources in Islamic Religion." Theological Librarianship 1.1
(2008). Print.
This article talks about all the different places in which the rules of Islam is displayed and
what the Muslim people should follow. The article talks about the Quran and the Hadith
and how they are different and they have different beliefs in which the Muslim people
should follow. It also talked about how the current Islamic law was largely inspired from
the Quran and how those two text, shape the religion as a whole.
As stated before, I wanted to learn everything there is about Islam and this article
explains a lot more on those two text, and how they make Islam what it is now. This
article is also not as great as I hoped since I already have a source thats based on the

Quran, and while this has information that the other source did not, and this one also
includes the Hadith but that is not enough information to make this source that great.
I think this is a credible source as I found this in the UNC-Charlotte librarys website and
it was located in the ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials.
Winter, Tim. "America as a Jihad State: Middle Eastern Perceptions of Modern American
Theopolitics." Muslim World 101.3 (2011): 394-411. Print.
This article is about how Islam is seem in America and how Islam is slowly growing in
Islam. This article then goes on to talk about how Christianity is so greatly followed in
America and how Islam and Christianity is starting to intertwine in America. It then starts
to state out all of the similarities between Islam and Christianity and why they are so
greatly followed.
This article didnt really help me as much as I wanted it to but it did help me out in
knowing how Islam is different from other religions and how they are similar. This article
let me think about what I know about different religions and think about why they are
similar and why they are different and using the information I learned.
I think this is a credible source as I found this in the UNC-Charlotte librarys website and
it was located in the ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials.
