Set Induction:
- With toes on the green line
- Anyone know the function of our lungs? (Answer:
basically, they provide O2 through breathing and get it
to blood)
- Now, take a deep breath and let it out. Again. Do you
feel fresh? This is a good way to release stress. When
we take a breath, we breath in what? Start with O; and
breath out what? Start with C? Oxygen and Carbon
dioxide. Right!
Learnable Piece:
- Today, we are going to play a game named Running
Air to demonstrate how does lungs exchange O2 and
CO2.
- Now, quickly find a partner. I will give each pair one
silk. Now, if you have a pink silk, please make a line
behind this cone; and if you have a green silk, make a
line behind that cone. Go!
Presentation of New Material/Directions:
- Students will listen to the activity that I give them to
do and stay in the same location.
- Listen, these two cones are the lungs, that two cones
are outside the body. The balls are CO2; the sand bags
are O2. You and your partner need to tie your feet
together (demonstrate), carry the ball (CO2) to that
cone, and bring back a sand bag (O2). Thump up.
- Now, lets tie our feet. You can practice with your

partner. Some safety issues: dont run. You can walk

fast, but dont run. This is a competition, but safety is
the most important thing, ok?
- Any question?
