INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
The plan should guide the LEAs use of education technology for the next three
years.

List specific start and end dates (7/1/2015 to 6/30/2018). Provide a brief
overview of the LEA, its location and demographics and/or share a link to
the LEAs website.
Harmony School of Exploration is a K through 5, model charter school in
Houston, TX. In 2013, Texas Education Agency granted a new campus to
Harmony Schools. Harmony School of Exploration is a tuition-free college prep
school opened by Harmony Science Academy, which has been rated
EXEMPLARY in 2005 by Texas Education Agency.
Its located on 9305 West Sam Houston Parkway South Houston, TX 77099.
The phone number is (832) 831-7406. The school website is
www.hehouston.org. Harmony School of Exploration has 350 students. It has
academic programs that would provide the requirements of all diverse students.
Our campus has special education, section 504, English as a second language,
gifted and talented programs.

Describe how a variety of stakeholders from within the LEA and the
community-at-large participated in the planning process.

Variety of stakeholders are school admin, vice principals, Internet


Technology Head Quarter, district finance department employees, Heads of
department chairs, local businessman, PTO, student presidents. First of all
committee met to implement the goals that are determined by the District
Administration. For the District Tech Plan, an analysis were made to assess how
the goals of the Technology Plan can support student achievements and to
identify appropriate goals.

Summarize the relevant research and describe how it supports the plan's
curricular and professional development goals.
Summarize the plans major curricular and professional development outcomes
that are supported by research.
Describe and cite the relevant research that supports the plans outcomes.
Describe the connection between the research and the plans goals.
Describe information gathered from site visits, including best practices.
Quality professional missions development program is to raise
student accomplishment. Its skilled by increasing the abilities of staff,
principals, and sustain success of admins relief of program. An inclusive
extended qualified progress program is built on the set of courses and province
aims, and is focused and harmonized. Technologic plan is very important to
implement technology in curriculum.
To encourage professional development, its very important to follow
strategies for staff skills and their collaboration. District supports schools to
process efficiently. The most effective factor for increasing the quality of
education is successful professional development .

CURRICULUM COMPONENT CRITERIA.


The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use of


digital tools.
1. What technology is currently available to all teachers?
At our Harmony School of Exploration all teachers have laptop.
2. How are hardware and software currently being used in classrooms at
each grade level and in each content area?
Teachers personal computers have almost all the Microsoft office programs
like Word, Excel, Power Point. In our school all classes have projector.
Teachers use their laptops for all their school work. All teachers can use
school printers. Students reading developments are controlled by Accelerated
Reader program. Math teachers use Accelerated Math software.

Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use of


digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.
1. Is technology currently available to all students?
Yes, the school offers tech to all students.
2. Do all student groups have equal and appropriate access to the available
technology?
Yes, all of them cover the same, equal and proper right of entry to presented
tech.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.

1. Are targets for improvement in student achievement being met?


Sure, those aims enabled students to increase achievement. Technology
makes learning more applicable in an information age. It improves and expands
classroom teaching, enabling students to right to use and be appropriate
information efficiently across a widespread choice of topic areas.
2. How will technology be used to create more powerful learning
experiences to improve student academic achievement?
Wilson (2002) envisions technology as offering endless possibilities to
enhance educational experiences, expand academic opportunities, and develop
critical employment skills. Others affirm the real promise of technology to be in its
potential to facilitate fundamental, qualitative changes in the nature of teaching
and learning (Thompson, Schmidt, & Stewart, 2000). Substantially given that
admission makes unsure which tech is going to efficiently improve education,
and outcome in enhanced success. By given that admission doesnt mean
school community expert best possible technology usage.

Describe goals and an implementation plan,with annual activities, to address


Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.
1. How are students using online communication technologies, including
but not limited to social networking and instant messaging?
Flagrant violations of Harmony Acceptable Use Policy or other actions
that damage the educational value of the schools computers or internet service
all teachers and students will be well informed about internet safety. They will
follow ethical rules for using technology.
Computers can be turned on or off according to administrator permission.
In computer labs drinks and foods arent allowed.
The use of the Internet is an advantage. Insulting behavior will lead to the
benefit being rescinded. The school internet can be used only for education.
The use of schools internet and computer network must be in sustain of
educational aims, studies, and class assignments and be reliable with the
learning goals of the school. Students must have an applicable, certified version
to right of entry the network, and they can use only computers that are certified.

In classrooms, students can use computers under the management of teachers.


2. What materials will be used to instruct students about Internet safety,
including how to use technologies to protect themselves and their privacy
online?
All computers in our school have filtering system. The computer users are
liable for conservation the computer account. The schools purpose in giving that
this service to staff and students is to go forward instructive superiority in schools
by helping reserves distribution, creative teaching, interaction skills. Teachers
and other school community can right of entry to many study leaned, educational
funds by means of the internet. On line books, academic journals, and databases
filled with information on many subjects are a few of the sources supplied.
School computers have the technology required to sustain student study
and to support their achievement. Use of the internet access to engage in
behavior that represents offense illegal trouble and/or premediated
endeavor to sidestep set up computer security software.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT
The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and


integration skills and needs for professional development.
1. Are administrators able to support teachers with the integration of
technology into daily curriculum?
Absolutely, they support teachers very much with the integration of technology.
2. What do teachers and administrators consider as their needs for
professional development?
Administrators and teachers requirement of improving skill improvement training
in technology. Professional training in Accelerated Math is needed for math
teachers.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.
1. What professional development will be provided to ensure teachers and
administrators will be able to effectively accomplish the curricular goals
for students described in section 2?
In our school meetings are arranged to analyze what do we have and what do we
need to improve.
2. What professional learning will be available so teachers and
administrators can effectively use technology to assist with student
assessment?
Generally usage of technology enable learners evaluation like MAP testing. Staff
is qualified to perform assessments.

INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND


ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA
The Plan must include an assessment of the telecommunication services,
hardware, software, asset management, and other services that will be needed to
improve education services.

Describe the existing hardware, Internet access, electronic learning resources,


technical support, and asset management already in the LEA that will be used to
support the Curriculum and Professional Development Components of the plan.
1. What technologies are available to facilitate home/school communication
such as email, webpages, and voice mail?
In our webpage, events and messages are posted. The school has twitter and
face book accounts. Also Wednesday mails bout activities and events are sent to
all parents every week. Parent communication is
usually provided by phone calls, voice mails and emails.

2. What technology access do parents have at home? What technologies


do parents prefer for home/school communication?
Majority of family have technological devices like computers, smart phones,
Ipads with internet connection in their residence and most of them use smart
phones. They follow children or school news from website or Harmony
Application.
Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and
telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical
support, and asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and
administrators to support the activities in the Curriculum and Professional
Development components of the plan.
1. What technology is needed to implement the Curriculum and
Professional Development components for students and staff?
Staff require professional development training for Google Apps and Google
Docs. These are not only used by teachers, but also students as well. Above four
years old classroom computer will need to be refreshed.
3. How will parents and community members are able to access school
information from home computers?
All of them can easily reach school information by using school webpage.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT


The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
1. Who will participate in the monitoring and evaluation process?

In Harmony Exploration administrators and dean of academics monitor and


evaluate process.

2. What criteria will be used to measure success (e.g., test scores, student

portfolios, percentage of students attaining grade-level content


standards, attendance, dropout rate, matriculation to college, or fulltime employment)?
In our school examination scores and course grades will determine student
achievement .

Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.
1. How often will data be collected and summarized? Who is responsible?
Data will be collected every 9 weeks. The responsible person is dean of
academic.
2. How often will the status of plan implementation be reported to the LEA
superintendent and the stakeholders?
Its reported annually to the LEA superintendent and stakeholders.
