Uganda Case Study

1. The historical origins of Uganda started with the British peacefully

leaving and Uganda achieving its independence, inly to break out into
internal conflict, like the over throwing of leaders. Ugandas
government was highly tolerant to religious diversity because it had
many different leaders of different faiths.
2. Religious themes cause people to act out in different ways, an
example being Alice Auma from the case study. Auma begin to
experience weird things, and had reportedly been taken over by a
holy spirit. She began to preach to her army and influence their
actions.
3. The international, religious, and political forces all advocate for
peace in a society, and resist conflict. They are important in protecting
their people.
4. Uganda has many diseases, one of them being AIDS. Its lack of
medical treatment, knowledge about the diseases, and ways to stop
them from getting it, life is hard to create and sustain in Uganda.
Schooling becomes harder when more people are getting sick.
5. Religion caused beliefs that when someone was sick or ill, they were
being punished by the Holy Spirit for sinning or being disrespectful to
them. This made it all the more hard to treat disease when you were
religiously out of place if you were sick.
