Daily Writing #6

During this class, I want to pursue the goal of becoming more professional with my
writing. In doing so, I wish to meet the standard of writing that is required by the engineering
curriculum, or perhaps even exceed the standards and go above and beyond what is merely
required. As far as what has stirred me by the reading, I wonder what exactly made the
generation of Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., and all the other civil rights activists different
from the generations before them. The previous generations begrudgingly accepted their role in
society and lived in relative peace with the white people. I wish to know what exactly caused the
next generation to be so different to protest and stand out against the oppression and push for
their civil rights.
