- Depicts the story of
Hang Tuah during the
old Malacca.
- Illustrate the process of
pirates
conquering
another country.
- Shows Hang Tuahs life.
- Features the life of
people and the culture
practiced in the olden

The actions shows the preparation
for conquering process.

Viewers have a better
understanding through senses
(sight). Visual communication.
Illustrations of the mural art itself
able to show and explain the
procedures and things that
happened in the past.

Able to refresh viewers mind
about the story of Hang Tuah in
Melaka.

The culture of Malay dress codes
in the past - Able to identify the
dressings of the people according
to gender and their positions.

Focus on the action and gesture of
people.
Super Sunday
- Commissioned to carry out
the graffiti project along
Melaka River.
- It is the longest graffiti art
in Melaka and the most
prominent one we have
done so far.
- Our concept is more to
Malaysian influences.

5 Concepts
1. Non-verbal messages
The facial expression of happiness
is shown through the Dutch
dancers smiles.
2. Subjective perception
The happiness of the Dutch
dancers depicts the celebration of
Malaccas freedom from the Dutch
ruling.
3. Tactile Communication
The Dutch dancers in the mural
are seen dancing arm in arm,
portraying the joy of celebration
shared between them.
4. Connotative meaning
Green background represents
growth, renewal and rebirth. It
gives out a positive feeling, where
the freedom from Dutchs ruling is
viewed as a celebration.
5. Proximity
The closeness between the
dancers suggests that they are
close friends or even couples.

1. Non-verbal messages
Gestures, facial expressions, eyes,
smile and frown shown in the
mural art suggest excitement,
awkwardness as well as shocked
towards the subject.
2. Subjective perception
The expressions portrayed could
lead to a thinking of how in the
society nowadays, some people
may fell thrilled watching other
people while some might judge
them and some will be shocked
seeing them.
3. Deceptive Communication
The expressions showed are
misleading as it leads viewers to a
thinking of judging and
stereotyping towards the subject
which convey hurtful message.
4. Connotative meaning
Grey shows depression, sadness,
loneliness and isolation.
Grey also creates an effect to its
viewer of detachment where it is
cold, indifferent and uncaring.
5. Selective attention
The eyes of the people in the
mural art are all directed to a
direction which is the subject.
Their attention is on the subject.

1. Non-verbal messages
Some of the resident of Shah Alam
holding a cleaning tool and some
of them lift their hands up with
fist. They all looked very excited.
These show that those resident
love Shah Alam much and they
care for the cleanliness of Shah
Alam.
3. Interpersonal relationship
This mural art depicts the peaceful and
harmony relationships between the
resident of Shah Alam. Although they came
from different family or background, even
different in race, but they still can work
together for the cleanliness of Shah Alam.
2. First impression
From the landmark of
Shah Alam Masjid
Sultan Salahuddin
Abdul Aziz Shah. We
can know that this
mural art is about the
status in Shah Alam.
4. Connotative
meaning
The artist use orange
colour on those Shah
Alam resident. Orange
symbolizes energy,
vitality, cheer,
adventure and good
health.
5. Selective
attention
Focus on the
activity of
resident of Shah
Alam. It shows
that Shah Alam is
a green area
place.
