Subtraction

LO: To take a 2 digit number from a 3 digit number using a number line by first going to the
nearest 10.

This week we have been working on subtraction using a

number line. Remember, weve been practicing jumping to the
nearest 10 and then subtracting the rest in sensible jumps.
Heres an example:
First: 142 - 2 gets you to 140.

142 - 37 =
Then take away 35
more to get have a
total of 37 taken away.
