After doing this project, I put into perspective what I actually eat and what I put into my body.
To be honest, I was very surprised on how this came out. I never gave it much thought about
what Im eating let alone how Im eating. I work at a school from 7:45 am to about 3:00 pm and
I get a 30-minute lunch. I work 5 days out of the week, so Im constantly there. Ill be the first
to admit Im not that much of a morning person and I sometimes struggle to get up, I have to put
about 3 alarms so I can hear it. When I enter work I get a 10-minute break and in those 10
minutes I do not prepare any breakfast or eat anything because I dont think I could finish it in
under 10 minutes. I also do not wake up earlier than what I do to eat breakfast at home. I also
do not have time to pack lunch in the morning because of the time I wake up, leaving me with
nothing to eat. I know this is not good for my health because I do not eat until I get home which
is about dinner time, because of school. I go the whole day without eating and Ive done it since
senior year of high school, and I guess this is why I never put much thought into it because my
body is so used to this.
A healthy menu would be having all three meals throughout the day. Meaning NO skipping
breakfast and lunch because of not having enough time to pack something. My vision of a
healthy menu for a day would be oatmeal for breakfast, for lunch a salad and ice tea, for dinner
mixed vegetables with quinoa rice. Also throughout the day have fruits as a form of snack. I
have taken on the challenge to be a vegetarian and have completed about 4 months on this
lifestyle. I decided to change to this form because I wanted to see how much more weight I
could lose. I was already used to not eating any type of meat but this time I excluded chicken
from my diet.
Three goals of mine would be to 1. Eat breakfast either before I get to work or when I have
my break. 2. Pack lunch the day before so I can fuel my body. 3. Find more vegetarian recipes.
