Brief Summary of The Book of Ecclesiastes

The name “Ecclesiastes” is the Greek Septuagint word is the same to that of
the Hebrew word meaning “the Preacher.” (1:1) The author claims to be the son
of David probable Solomon. The purpose of this book is to convince younger
people that everything is vanity “under the sun.” It is to show learning from the
world, riches and pleasures all has an end. Finally, the author shows the fullness
of life and is found only in the recognition of things “above the sun”, things that
are spiritual, and the creator.
