Brief Description
I will use observation throughout the
unit to assess students formatively
and offer feedback daily. I will observe
for skills/technique, rules and fair
play, and well as participation.
I will use the effort rubric to assess
student on participation,
cooperation/teamwork, leadership,
and attendance. Students will all be
given a rubric at the beginning of the
unit and during one of the classes be
asked to assign themselves a
hypothetical grade based on where
they think they fall to ensure they are
thinking about how they participate.
I will use the skills rubric to assess
students on the level of participation,
performance of skills, and their
contributions to the class. For crosscountry I will also use this rubric to
assess how much they are working
towards improving their 2km run
times.
The exit slip allows students to reflect
on why lacrosse is included as a unit
and assesses their understanding of
how physical activity contributes to
personal health and wellness. There is
also an FNMI connection in this unit.
