Everyday Technology
Technology is advancing every day. While technology advances I feel as if it limits our
everyday thinking. Technology has many dangers such as limiting our thinking, making us less ,
The first thing people think of when it comes to the internet is that it gives us instant
access to massive stores of new information. Instead of going to the library you have an easy
access to the answers of your questions at the touch of your fingertips. They Say I Say states,
Critics, however, retort that, far from making us smarter, online technologies are actually
making us dumber, even in our capacity as writers. This article demonstrates that technology is
making us dumb and less intelligent. It is handicapping us as writers. Many critics say the
volume from new information from the web overwhelming. It makes us so overwhelmed that we
cant think straight or organize our thoughts. Pharmacology of cognitive enhancers for exposurebased therapy of fear, anxiety and trauma-related disorders states that, Studies have shown that
early exposure to these types of technologies result in the brain pruning connections to the
frontal cortex.
Social media seems like a great way to communicate and make friends. You are able to
communicate and share thoughts all around the world with a touch of a button. Social media can
open your eyes to the world and give you different tastes of diversity. Other critics give
background information on how that can be false. If we are on our phones majority of the day, it
leaves us with little time for real-world relationships. Forbes magazine offers a eye opening
article that states Eighty-eight percent of respondents in our study reported that people are less
polite on social media than they would be in a face-to-face interaction

Technology has many benefits. It can aid with the improvement in sales and
advertisement. It also gives us updates for certain sales and discounts. These notifications and
emails and business signs can all serve as a distraction. Technology hinders many people
completing their job at their workplace. The harmon.ie survey created by market research firm
uSamp conducted a survey concluding that nearly 60% of work interruptions now involve either
using tools like email, social networks, text messaging and IM, or switching windows among
disparate standalone tools and applications.
Social media and technology is damaging for humans. It has its benefits but the
disadvantages overweigh them. The technologies most of us use daily are improving and
becoming more advanced. Imagine how technology could affect you in the next 10 years. Will
we continue to reply on media?
