    theypracticedgooddharma,theymightmoveupthecastesystemintheirnextlife.

    YourTask:
    Youwillbetoldwhichcasteyouarein.Eachpersonwillbepartofagroupthathas
    onestudentfromeachcaste.Asagroup,youmustmakeaposterthatcutsoutimagesand
    wordsfromamagazineandgluesthemontoadiagram.Thediagramshowsthelevelsofthe
    castesystem,soyoumustchooseimagesorwordsthatrelatetoeachspecificcasteandthen,
    nexttothelevel,explainhowtheyrelate.Therolesforeachcastememberarebelow:

    Brahmin:
    Superviseanddirecttheothers.Youareinchargeofdecidingwhichimagesgo
    intothediagram,proofreadingandeditingwhattheKshatriyaswrite,andkeepingeveryoneon

    Kshatriya
    :Youwillwriteexplanationsofhoweachimagerelatestothecastelevel.The
    Brahminmustproofreadaroughdraftofwhatyouwritebeforeitgetswrittenontotheposter.
    Whileyouarewaitingforsomethingtodo,youmustremainquietandrespectthoseinyourown
    casteandthoseaboveyourcaste.

    Vaishya
    :Youmustgluetheimagesontothediagramintherightwaysaccordingtowhat
    theBrahmindecide.Whileyouarewaitingforsomethingtodo,youmustremainquietand
    respectthoseinyourowncasteandthoseaboveyourcaste.

    Shudra
    :Youmustcutoutthewordsandimages,thattheBrahmindecideon,fromthe
    magazine.Whileyouarewaitingforsomethingtodo,youmustremainquietandrespectthose
    inyourowncasteandthoseaboveyourcaste.

    Untouchables
    :Youarethecleanupcrew.Youarenotallowedtospeaktoorinteractwith
    anyoneoutsideyourcasteandyoumustcleanupaspeoplemakeamess(iftherearescraps
    ofpaper,pickthemup),whilealsogettingpeoplewateriftheydesire.Theycanspeaktoyou,
    butyoucannotspeaktothem.

    KarmaandDharmaPoints:
    Whiledoingthisactivity,therewillbekarmaanddharmamonitors
    walkingaroundtheclass.Theywillhavelistsofeverystudentandbeaddingaplussignora
    minussignnexttoeveryonesnameiftheyarepracticinggoodorbadkarmaanddharma.At
    theendoftheclass,wewilladduphowmanydharmaandkarmapointseachstudenthas,and
    thatwilldetermineyourgradefortheassignment.
