My opinions of equal opportunities
Most people now at days say women have equal opportunities with men. But people phrase that
are men themselves. Women should be treated the same as men because they are both human beings. Sex
should not be any difference to point out and make you feel like you have the right to discriminate
someone. Women should treated the same way as men do because they can do similar things that a man
can do and can also manage to handle most situations with not much difference than a man. Women
should also be represented more because theyre voice isnt often heard.
Women deserve to be treated the same as men because why is it that a women is expected to stay
at home and take care of the house hold then to go to work and also manage to pay bills with the man. If a
women goes to work rather than raising her kids shes judged and told that she isnt playing the mother
role right. I strongly believe that this is where religion comes in and plays the role of discrimination upon
women. The way a girl is raised strongly affects her beliefs. There are different types of religions
globally. For example the Hindu religion raises girls to believe that they cannot step a foot outside their
house without being escorted by a man. It seems to me that this religion tries to make the girls feel less
than a man. It makes her feel weak and if something bad were to happen she would not be able to handle
the situation on her own. She cannot even make an errand to the groceries store without being escorted
by a man.
One statement that I strongly hate hearing is when society and men define a women as the term
bitch. The true definition of the word bitch is a female dog. What comparison does society see that a
women and dog have in common? Absolutely no similarity whats so ever? I have heard comments from
men that say the reason why they call a woman a bitch is based on their first impression of her, the way
she acts with attitude and because a woman has no saying in anything and no value. Woman have the

right to say their opinion but sadly most women choose not to because of the way they are raised or they
feel like they wont be taken seriously.
There are plenty of different concerns that I have on how women arent treated equal to men and
how women are being judged at for doing the same thing a man does but are discriminated of. For
example if a women is responsible enough to pay her bills, go to school, and overall handle her
responsibilities why cant she feel free to smoke or drink if she wants. I have witnessed myself as well as
hearing stories that it doesnt look classy if women drinks or smokes because she is a woman. The true
definition of classy is to be stylish, or not be crude. Why does society automatically use the word classy
to define a girl? I understand girls can be stylish but in the term that they use it they make it sound like a
girl cannot be allowed to drink or smoke if she wants. Society judges people a lot, but I feel like it judges
women the most.
Society has negative comments to say about women. They find it a joke to use the term like a
girl or call somebody a girl as way of joking. They sexually objectify women more than men. Society
makes women appear physically weak and have no value to their gender. Are women a joke to society? I
feel that you came from a women so who gives somebody the right to make fun of one. I always hear men
make fun of other men by using women as an insult. For example if a man is seen crying another man
automatically calls the one showing emotion a chick or a bitch. Men arent usually the ones to show
emotion but when they do they are being made fun of because society gives them role to play like they
have to be the ones that are tough and strong. Every human being has emotions and should not have to
feel like they have to hide it because judgments.
Women arent as strong as men but when they show that they are the men feel insulted and less
than a woman. Society saids that a women cannot be successful because it would make the man look bad.
Why should a womens success be an insult to a man. Does society or people of modern day today, ever
think about how the women feels? A woman should not have to feel like her success limits her. Any
women can be successful its just the matter of how much effort she is willing to go to get it. Dont let the

judgements of those around you limit you to where you can be and who you want to be.
Gender equality should be where both genders have equal opportunities and shouldnt have to
feel like anything nor anyone limits them. Just as women, I understand that men are daily judged because
society judges them and only allows them to be particular. For example if a man is seen cooking he is
judged because most people believe that women should be the ones cooking not men. There are men who
are chefs as well as there are women that are fire- fighters and police officers. I strongly believe more
people should stop letting society stop them from what they want to pursue. This is where religion is
brought up again, men must be the ones to work and provide for their family because if they dont they
arent been recognized as a man they have to keep their family together and must provide them with
everything such as shelter, clothes, food, and etc.
A woman can provide for a family as well but she is looked down upon when she does. Or
however, when a woman is left as a single mother people assume that she will not be able to raise a child
on her own. They assume that she needs the help of a man to give the child the life that it deserves.
Society assumes that a woman cannot manage to pay the bills, maintain a house, and importantly manage
to raise a child on her own. Most mothers manage to raise a child on their own and their kids turn out
being successful. For example there are lawyers, doctors, marines, soldiers, celebrities, etc. that had the
outcome of turning out successful and they were raise by single mothers. I have an example Tupac
Shakur he was a great music artist that died in 1997 but he was raised by a single mother. One if his
popular songs called Dear Mama is recognized for the recognition he gave his mother for raising two
bad kids, and coming home late from work exhausted but would still manage to make miracles by giving
them the best thanksgivings and cooking them hot plates those late nights coming home from work. This
example goes to prove that single mothers can manage to raise a child and society should not judge them
and make them feel weak as if they cant. But women must not let the judgements get to them or make
them feel like they are weak. This song is recognized globally and most women review it as a way of
them being strong and can raise a child on their own.
Overall my point of gender equality is strong. This topic has always caught my attention because

I hate hearing people define women as the term bitch and because I also hate hearing when men are
being called bitch for showing emotion. I strongly believe that we should make a difference to society
and how they use their ways to define gender. Like I have said and will continue to say, Gender should
not be something that defines you. You define it. Therefore, women should be treated no different than
men and should be treated with respect. Lets stop the gender differences. We are all humans and should
be treated equally the same with respect. How would you feel if somebody called your mom a bitch? I
would be really angry and would want to punch someone. Dont allow society to take these gender
differences any farther and allow us to make a change.
