What is ovs?

Ans:-OVS Stands for Object Value Seletion Which gives you More Flexibility in
Selecting the values.
The SAP has Provided a Standrad Webdynpro Component WDR_OVS for OVS search
help.Using this Standrad Component we can provide OVS Search Help in our
Component.And it has Four Phases Phase0 to Phase 3
Phase 1 :if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_o
It is a configuration phase,In this phase we can set the LABEL for the
subsearch,output,etc..For this purpose the event parameter OVS_CALLBACK_object
provides the method SET_CONFIGURATION
Phase 2 :if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_1
This method is used to set the input structure for subsearch,by using the method
SET_INPUT_STRUCTURE
Phase 3 :if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_2
In this phase we can use write to write the business method to fetching the datas
from database,so the values obtained are set to the output table so that it can be
displayed on the screen.By using themethod SET_OUTPUT_TABLE.
Phase 4 :if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_3
In this phase it will passed the selected records to the webdynpro field ie set
attributes using contextelement->Set_attribute.
How to configure OVS Search Help?
Ans:-1.Create a component and declare the standard component WDR_OVS in the
used components.
2.Add the Interface controller of the ovs component to the view in the properties of
tab so that will be able to access the Standard OVS component methods.
3. Create the context node and add attributes to it. Set the input help mode

of the attribute as Object value selector. And select the OVS usage
Component using F4 help.
4. Create an event handler method. And select the event as OVS using F4
help.and it generates some code and change the code as per your
requriment and run the application.
