Criteria 1 Exploration Proposal

1. Have I written an exploration proposal that is at least 2 3 pages long, contains visual images that are relevant to the discussion?
2. Have I described and explained the subject matter I intend to explore in detail?
3. Have I listed and explained the aims and ideas of the design process in detail?
4. Have I identified and explained the use of aesthetic qualities in detail?
5. Have I identified and discussed the art form/s I wish to explore in detail?
6. Have I identified and discussed the materials and techniques appropriate to the art form/s identified?
. Have I identified and discussed the sources of inspiration I wish to use and related them to aims and concepts I will in explore in the
design process?
8. Have I included a detailed weekly plan of how I think the design process will be approached using details from the exploration
proposal?
Criteria 2 Subject matter, aims and ideas
1. Have I described the development of conceptual possibilities using written and visual annotation?
2. Have I clearly identified the ideas I wish to explore and annotated their development throughout the design process?
3. Have I progressively developed and refined ideas identified in the exploration proposal?
4. Have I developed personal imagery from source material?
5. Have I clearly identified the secondary source material used in the design process?
6. Does the imagery I have identified in the exploration proposal also evident in the design process?
Criteria 3 aesthetic qualities and relevance to ideas
1. Have I discussed the aesthetic qualities in annotation and their relevance to the ideas in the design process?
2. Have I clearly identified and explored the aesthetic qualities in the exploration proposal and the design process?
3. Have I progressively developed the personal imagery using a variety of aesthetic qualities that reflect the aims and ideas identified in
the exploration proposal?
4. If I have used borrowed images from other sources, have I clearly identified the sources and changed the images so that they have
been personalized?
5. Have I discussed how I have personalized the images?
Criteria 4 materials, techniques and processes
1. Have I demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of materials and techniques that I identified in the exploration proposal?
2. Have I visually documented the use of materials and techniques and discussed their use in the design process?
3. Does my work show a development of skills in the use of materials and techniques?
4. Have I discussed how my skills have progressively developed in the use of materials and techniques?
5. Have I supplied visual evidence of materials in the design process and annotated it use and relevance to the aims identified in the
exploration proposal?
Criteria 5 Evaluation of exploratory work
1. Have I annotated every page of the design process in detail?
2. Have I clearly explained the relationship between the exploration proposal and design process throughout?
3. How well have I communicated the ideas identified in the exploration proposal in the design process?
4. Have I achieved the aims and ideas identified in the exploration proposal?

 5. Have I clearly numbered and evaluated each potential direction (there should be at least 8 Potential Directions)?
6. Have I clearly communicated how each potential direction could be used to create future artworks?
7. Have I progressively developed in annotation my ideas and aims identified in the exploration proposal?
Criteria 6 Selection and evaluation of a range of potential directions
1. Have I clearly numbered or titled each potential direction?
2. Have I used the term potential direction for each potential direction?
3. Have I progressively spaced the potential directions throughout the design process?
4. Have I discussed how the potential direction achieves the aims identified in the exploration proposal?
5. Have I discussed and evaluated how the potential direction uses aesthetic qualities identified in the exploration proposal in the
design process?
6. Have I discussed how the potential directions creative and innovate?
7. Have I included visual images that describe how the potential directions could become future artworks?
