LO 4: Examine contemporary issues in
education in the UAE.
Essential Questions:
How could examine contemporary issues in
education in the UAE will help you to create a
better education in the UAE setting and
become a future teacher?

Description of Activities:
1. Discussion: I will use Poll Everywhere to ask students a question what are the
issue that you observe during teaching practice period in the UAEs schools?
2. Use media (newspaper/network/ social network/YouTube) to look for the
issues that may be in the education in the UAE and find a solution. Students
will present students the issue by using different presentation tools.

Assessment:
Mini Research: Create a brochure or an infographic about the issue that they searched with attaching mini survey (three questions).
Distribute it in the schools or send to their mentor school teachers to find out if the issues are still existing in UAEs schools. Finally,
students will attach their finding in BB9.
The rubric of mini research is attached in BB9.

PowerPoint
NearPod
Google Slides

Differentiated:
I differentiated by students learning styles:
Visual learners (use presentation tool to illustrate their
issue)
Verbal-linguistic learner (write in a brochure or an
infographic).
Kinesthetic learner (walking out of college environment
and do the survey in their teaching practice school)
Intrapersonal learner (work in mini research individually).

I used technology to teach and assess the student teachers about the content (examine contemporary issues in education in the UAE). I
will do that by:
Using Media (newspaper/network/ social network/YouTube) to search for recent issue in education in the UAE
Presentation tools (Prezi, Powtoon, PowerPoint, NearPod and Google Slides) to present the issue and discuss with me and the
classmates.
Piktochart and Microsoft Office Word (brochure format) to create their brochure or infographic within including their survey. As
a result, student teachers will able to do their mini-research.
Google forms to create the three questions (survey) and share it in brochure or infographic or send it by email directly.
BB9 to submit their assessment.
