Weathering- the breaking down of rocks and minerals by


physical or chemical processes
Physical weathering or mechanical weathering

Chemical Weathering- chemical processes dissolve and


decay materials
(examples acid rain, rust -caused by
oxidation)

Erosion- the movement of sediment or soil from one


location to another

Runof- the process of water moving across a surface of


the land
Coastlines are affected by wave action erosion

Deposition- when particles carried by wind, ice, or water


are deposited in another location
