Meeker stated that he did nct know who Jeffrey Navin was talking to or what the conversation was,
about, but it was ‘very heated." Meeker stated that when Jeffrey Navin left the transfer station, he
was stil screaming on the phone. It should be noted, after reviewing Jeffrey Navin's cell phone
records, the only people he contacted or attempted to contact during this time frame was Kyle
Navin's cell phone or the J& Refuse businessilandline number which is located at his home in,
Easton. Easton Police Office: Cecoarelli spoke to Mecker on August 10, 2016.
29. During the course of this investigation detectives obtained and analyzed call, text, and cell site
records for Jeffrey Navin, Jeanette Navin, and Kyle Navin's cellular telephones. Review of these
records demonstrates that on August 4, 2015, from 0920 hours through 1323 hours, Jeffrey Navin,
made approximately eighty-ive (85) cellular calls or texts to Kyle, Jeanette, or the J&J Refuse
business/nome number.
30, An analysis of Jeanette's records established that Jeanette's last outgoing call was on August 4,
2016, at approximately 0845 hours, and was a two (2) second call to her husband. At approximately
(0920 hours, Jeanette's cellular telephone registered as being in the area of a cell tower at 2600
Park Avenue in Bridgeport, which is close to Kyle's residence. It should be noted that Jeanette's
cellular telephone had one (1) additional cell tower registration in Easton on August 4, 2015 at 1508
hours. This was not a call, and later found to be a data event. After that time, Jeanette's cellular
telephone was never used to communicate with anyone in any manner.
31. An analysis of Jeffrey's records established that he made approximately 63 calls to Jeanette
‘and Kyle Navin throughout the moming and early afternoon of August 4, 2015. Jeffrey's last
‘outgoing call was placed to Kyle Navin at approximately 1323 hours. During the call, Jeffrey's
cellular telephone accessed the cell ower at 2600 Park Avenue in Bridgeport, inthe vicinity of Kyle
Navin's residence. Cell records indicate that Kyle Navin was also accessing the same cell tower,
indicative that he was also at his residence at that time. After that time, Jeffrey's cell phone was
‘tured off and was never used again to communicate with anyone in any manner.
32. The cell records indicate that after 0845 hours on Jeanette's phone, and after 1323 hours on

35. During the execution of a search warrant at the residence of Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin in
Easton on August 18, 2015, IWDMC Detectives seized numerous exhibits including DNA exemplars.
(Voothbrushes) of both Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin,
36. WOMC detectives discovered two (2) bullet holes in the front passenger seat of Kyle's blue
2000 Chevrolet K2500 during the execution of a search warrant on the vehicle on August 14, 2015,
‘The portion of the seat belt which would cross the passenger's chest also had a bullet hole in it,
suggesting there was a person seated in the front passenger seat, with the seat belt engaged,
When at least one (1) of the two (2) rounds were fired. Further processing of said vehicle revealed
that there was bloodike transfer on the front leading edge of the driver's seat. A presumptive test
for the presence of blood resulted in positive findings,
37. The forensic laboratory generated a DNA Report pertaining to evidence seized during the
Course of this investigation. The report indicated that known DNA samples of Jeffrey and Jeanette
Navin were examined and compared to blood like stains seized from Kyle Navin's vehicle. A
swabbing of a blood like stain from the front passenger seat, where one (1) of the bullet holes was,
located, was examined. This examination revealed that Jeanette Navin's known DNA profile was
found to be the source of the DNA profile from the swabbing of the blood like stain from the area of
the bullet hole. In a later DNA report it was confirmed that the bloodlike stain found on the driver's
‘seat of Kyle Navin's vehicle tested positive for blood, and that Kyle Navin was the source af the
DNA profile found within the stain.
38. Detectives seized two (2) firearms and numerous rounds of ammunition from Kyle Navin's
residence located at 142 Aldne Avenue in Bridgeport during the execution of a search warrant on
‘August 13, 2015. Detectives seized one (1) box containing eight (8) rounds of American Eagle .380,
caliber ammunition; two (2) boxes of Winchester 380 caliber ammunition, with 68 rounds in one (1)
box and 100 rounds in the second box; two (2) boxes of Remington slugs, each of which contained
five (5) rounds; a black zip case containing a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 Auto handgun with
a laser sight, bearing serial number EBX6587, with one (1) round in the chamber and two (2)
magazines, each of which contained six (6) rounds of ammunition; a Sig Sauer hard plastic case
that contained a Sig Sauer F229 .40 caliber handgun, bearing serial nurnber AJUO1140, with one

39, The forensic laboratory subsequently generated a report pertaining to the Smith & Wesson
Bodyguard .380 Auto handgun and the Sig Sauer P229 .40 caliber handgun. The report indicates.
that both handguns were test fred and found to be in operable condition,
40, WOMC Detectives seized a “LiftMaster” garage door opener from the residence of Jeffrey and
‘Jeanette Navin in Easton during the execution of a search warrant on August 18, 2015. This garage
oor opener was located on ‘he wall adjacent to the door way that leads to the interior of the house.
‘The opener contained a bloodlike stain with a visible partial fingerprint contained within the stain.
This stain was subsequently tested and produced a positive result for blood. The “LiftMaster”
‘opener was submitted to the forensic laboratory for further testing. The bloodike stain found on the
“Liftmaster" garage door opener cover is consistent with Jeanette Navin being the source of the
DNA profi.
41. A set of known fingerprrt exemplars of Kyle Navin were submitted for comparison. The results
of the examination show that Kyle Navin could not be excluded as the contributor ofthe latent print
found in his mother's blooc on the “LiftMaster” garage door opener. Limited detail was found
consistent with the left thumb print of Kyle Navin, however, the quality of detail in the latent print
‘was nat sufficient to render a definite conclusion.
42, On August 18, 2015, WOMC detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at Kyle's
residence in Bridgeport. Whle processing the basement of the residence, detectives noted that it
‘was apparently under renovation and a large area of the wall-to-wall carpet had been removed
(approximately 11x7 feet). The red colored wall-to-wall carpet adjacent to the bare floor was
processed with Luminol which yielded several luminescent stains consistent with latent bloodstains.
Detectives reported that several of these stains appeared to be shaped lke footwear or footprints.
‘The section of rug containing the stains was removed and submitted to the forensic laboratory for
testing. The forensic laboratory report indicated that a cutting of a stain found on the topside of this
piece of carpeting tested positive for the presence of blood. The report indicates that the stain is a
‘mixture with both Kyle Navin and Jeffrey Navin being contributors to the DNA profile
443, Through the course of this investigation, an interview was conducted with real estate agent
Lawrence Vecchione who believed that at the time of the proposed sale of Kyle's house in April of
2015, there were not any missing areas of carpet in in the basement.

basement stairs. Luminescent stains consistent with latent bloodstains were also found on the
basement wall adjacent to the stairs near the door to the backyard. Samples of these stains were
also submitted to the forensic laboratory. The laboratory report notes that a swabbing of a bloodlike
stain on Kyle's basement wall is a mixture of both Kyle Navin and Jeffrey Navin as being
contributors to the DNA profile. Detectives also noted that the storm door glass on the
fforcmentioned backyard deor had been brolian out, Cimilar broken glase was found during a
search of the household trash indicative that it had happened recently. Real estate agent
Vecchione again believed that in April of 2015, this door was fully intact
