Alternative Offer If the contractor has some reservations as to the successful operation of the equipment by following the drawings andlor specifications, an altemate bid shall be submitted together with the requested bid highlighting such changes and justifying the reasons thereof, as may be necessary for successful operation of the plant. ‘The general arrangement shown on the drawings and/or as described in the specifications shall be substantially maintained. The absence of any such alternative bid, shall qualify the bidder's acceptance of the drawings and or specifications, It shall be assumed that by submission of the bid, the contractor shall accept the responsibilty for the successful operation of the equipment and its various parts. Radio Frequency Interference suppression BSEN 55014 and BS 1597, PART 2 PRODUCTS 24 Equipment 244 The equipment shall include but not be limited to the items described in these specifications. 242 ‘The design of the sets shall permit the easy replacement of all items subject to wear, 243 Electrical equipment included in the emergency plant installation shall comply with the relevant clauses of these specifications, unless otherwise indicated 22 Engine 224 ‘The engine shall be diesel, water cooled mult-cylinder unit constructed to BS 5614 or ISO 3046. All auxiliaries necessary for operation, including turbo charging and charge air ‘cooling equipment shall be supplied as applicable. 222 ‘The rating of the engine shall be capable of continuous operation as defined in BS 5514, ‘The rating shall include both full and 110% full load for 1 hour operation. 223 Fuel injection shall be enclosed insine direct fuel injection type with diaphragm type fuel lft pumps. Full flow fiters with replaceable elements shall be fitted and 24V fuel solenoid shall be provided. 224 “The engine shall be suitable for operation by using fuel cil to BS 2869, DIN 51 601 or as recommended by the manufacturer. 225 ‘The construction of the engine shall facilitate on site maintenance and repairs including access to and removal of pistons and connecting rods. The engine and AC. generator shall be mounted on @ common, rigid bed plate supported on spring type anti vibration mountings Means for lifting and moving the set into position shall be provided. 226 “The engine speed governing system shall be in accordance with BS 5614: part 4 to meet the specified values of tolerances. Means for manual adjustments of engine speed in range of +5 percent from the rated speed under all specified load conditions shall be provided at the control panel. 227 ‘An engine over speed protection device shall be provided in accordance with BS $514: part 6 (ISO 4046/6). 228 “The engine lubrication system shall include a large capacity oil sump within the baseplate of the plant. A bypass pressure relief valve shall be fitted in the pump delivery. Drip trays shall be fitted to collect any spillage of oll and collecting drained oil ‘The lubrication system shall provide a continuous, automatic lubrication to all moving parts (without any manual intervention). The system’shall also inolude oil cooler, crankcase breather pipe, manual lubrication facility for priming, sump drain pipe to facilitate oil drainage from the side of the skid and a dipstick The engine coolant shall be circulated by a gear driven centrifugal pump mounted on the engine. A thermostatically controlled valve shall be provided in the cooling system to assist rapid heating of waler temperature during the starting of the engine and to provide temperature control when engine is running, ‘An electric immersion heater connected to mains supply shall be fitted to maintain the tengine jacket water temperature to assist quick starting of the engine in cold environment ite. when the ambient temperature is below 100C, The cooling system shall be closed loop type with set mounted or remote radiator with integral fan. The radiator fan shall be either directly driven from the engine or driven by an electric motor connected to generator electrical supply. The radiator fan shall be sized to accommodate the pressure drops in duct works, louvers and attenuators used in the installation of the emergency plant, ‘The cooling system shall include all pipe works, valves, sensors, heaters, etc, to provide satisfactory operation of the diesel generator set under the specified loading and ambient conditions, Care must be taken to see that the surface to which the generator is bolted is aligned in all direction so as to avoid bearing trouble Engine mounted radiators shall be connected to radiator exhaust louvers, by means of a fire retardant flexible cowling connection as necessary and as applicable. Starting System ‘The engine starting system shall be capable of starting and running the engine at rated cranking speed required for satisfactory ignition. Engine shall be started by means of battery operated starter motors, mounted on the ‘engine flywheel housing. ‘Where two starter motors are used for starting, each motor shall be capable of providing the required starting duty at the lowest specified ambient temperature. ‘The starter motors shall be disengaged from the engine, when the engine fires or when the starting sequence is de-energized. Starter batteries shall be sealed maintenance free, lead acid type and shall have a Capacity required for the above starting operation and to initiate three starting cycles. Batteries shall be located close to the engine with the leads between the batteries and the engine duly protected against physical damage. ‘The batteries shall be easily accessible for maintenance and inspection. Constant voltage type battery charger with monitoring instrumentation shall be provided for charging the starter batteries. The baltery charger shall be automatically disconnected during the engine starting Khatib & Alamiand Partners Section 26 52 00 Generator Assemblies 26 3200-4 Main Works Contract Project No. MC 1411 Electrical Specifications ‘Omran Head Quarter & Annex Building-Oman 24 Alternator 244 ‘The alternator shall be brushless, salient pole and with revolving field and self-regulating alternator. 242 ‘The alternator shall be continuously rated in accordance with BS 5000: part 99, and shall be capable of providing 110% output for 1 hour in any 12 hour duty period, 243 The generator shall be self-cooled by means of an integral shaft mounted fan over the ambient air temperature range specified. 244 Differential Protection to be provided for the Alternator in addition to the standard over current, under voltage, overvoltage, short circuit protection with module and ensure to trip the Generator Breaker. 245 Contractor should take care that the air entering the alternator is not preheated by passing over any hot body such as the engine or its exhaust system. 246 ‘The alternator shall be of fabricated steel! construction with ball and roller bearing, dynamically balanced and with rotating field salient pole construction with heavy damper windings, 247 ‘The machine shall have an A.C exciter and liberally rated silicon diode assembly with @ builtin excitation system and automatic voltage regulator (AVR). It shall be screen protected, drip proof and with a large terminal box. 248 Positive voltage build up shall be ensured by the permanent magnets in the exciter field 249 Constant output voltage control shall be achieved by a transistorized voltage regulator which adjusts the exciter field current to compensate for all normal variations. 2.4.10 AVR components shall be contained within an enclosure mounted on the alternator. The tenclosure shall be isolated from any vibration forces transmitted from the generator. 2.4.11 Altemators should have automatic space heater facility 2.4.12 Where diesel generating sets are to operate in parallel, the altemator regulation characteristics shall be designed to facilitate such operation, including provision for manual adjustments of characteristics at site. 2.4.13 Insulation to windings of the alternator shall be rated Class H as a minimum standard, All ‘windings shall be fully impregnated for tropical climates, with high quality oil resistant varnish. 2.4.14 Radio interference suppression of the alternator/regulator shall comply with the requirements of BSEN 55014 and BS 1597. 2.4.15 The voltage regulation limits shall be within + % percent under all conditions of load, power factor and temperature variations from cold to hot. 24.16 Voltage dit shall be negligible, Total harmonic content in the line voltage waveform shall be in the range of 3 percent, 2.4.17 Thealternator to be balanced with Engine at the factory and necessary test to be carried at the Site to confirm proper balancing. There shall be Tio rigid connections between the generator set and the structure. Selection of springs should be confirmed by the Manufactures’ of DG set to provide minimum deflection with supporting calculations. 262 ‘The spring type vibration isolators shall preferably be constructed from suitably treated and finished steel or steel alloys. They shall be equipped with rubber, neoprene or glass fibre acoustic pads to prevent transmission of high frequencies between the DG set and floor slabs. 253 ‘Spring type isolators shall have auxiliary dampers or adjustable snubber type restraints to prevent excessive movements as the machine speed passes through resonant frequency of the mounting system. 26 Coupling System 264 ‘The coupling system shall be of unit construction which forms the engine and generator into one unit of exceptional strength and ensures perfect alignment. 262 ‘The alternator end shield and the engine flywheel housing faces shall be fully machined with spigots concentric to their shatts. 263 ‘The machined flanges mounted on the alternator shall be connected to the flywheel housing flange by steel bolts. 264 ‘A flexible rubber block coupling shall be fitted between the engine and alternator to provide the drive and absorb the transmission of shack loads, The torsional flexibility shall be designed to match the torsional characteristics of the system to prevent resonant conditions, 2 Engine Control Panel and Protective Devices 274 ‘The engine control panel should be environmentally sealed, Solid state micro processor- based modules for engine control, A/C metering and shall include an oil pressure gauge, coolant temperature gauge, battery charge rate ammeter, run/stop/ remote selector ‘switch, level gauges for the bulk fuel tank and engine monitoring system, 272 ‘The panel shall incorporate all receiving auxiliary contacts for connections of wiring to a remote start/stop control and a remote annuciator panel as described hereinafter. 273 ‘The control shall be mounted on the generator set. 274 ‘The control shall be vibration isolated and prototype tested to verify the durability of all ‘components in the system under the vibration conditions encountered. 278 ‘The control shall be UL508 listed, CSA282-M1989 certified, and meet IEC8526 part 4 278 ‘All switches, lamps and meters shall be oil-tight and dust-tight, and the enclosure door shall have gasket. 207 ‘There shall be no exposed points in the control (with the door open) that operate in excess 0f 50 volts. In the RUN position the generator set shall start, and accelerate to rated speed and voltage. In the OFF position the generator set shall immediately stop, bypassing all ime delays. In the AUTO position the generator set shall be ready to accept a signal from a remote device to start and accelerate to rated speed and voltage. Red "mushroom head” push button EMERGENCY STOPILOCKABLE switch. Pressing the emergency stop switch shall cause the generator set to immediately shut down, and be locked out from automatic restarting Push-button RESET switch. ‘The RESET switch shall be used to clear a fault and allow restarting the generator set afer ithas shut down for any fault condition. Push-button PANEL LAMP switch, Pressing the panel lamp switch shall cause the entire panel to be lighted with DC control power. The panel lamps shall automatically be switched off 10 minutes after the switch is pressed, or after the switch is pressed a second time. Generator Set AC Output Metering ‘The generator set shall be provided with a metering set including the following features and functions: Digital metering set, 0.5% accuracy, to indicate generator RMS voltage and current, frequency, output current, output KW, running hours and power factor. 2.7.10.5.1.2 Generator output voltage shall be available in line to line and line to neutral voltages, and 27.406 27.10.8.1 27.1082 shall display all three phase voltages (line to neutral or line to line) simultaneously. Engine monitoring system Engine monitoring system shall be provided with individual fault lamps/Display tor alarms & shutdown listed below. ‘Alamp test switch shall be provided to indicate status of various indicating lamps. The generator set shall be provided with alarm and status indicating lamps to indicate nnon-automatic generator status, and existing alarm and shutdown conditions. 27.10.64 The lamps shall be high-intensity LED type. A cranking Khatib & Alam and Partners ‘Section 26 32 00 Generator Assemblies 26 3200-8 Main Works Contract Project No. MC 1411 Electrical Specifications (Omran Head Quarter & Annex Building-Oman limiter shall be provided to open the starting circuit in approximately 45 to 90 sec if the engine is not started within that time. 27.10.7 Engine Status Monitoring: 2.7.10.7.1._ The following information shall be available from a digital status panel on the generator set control 2.7.10.7.4.1 Engine oil pressure (psi or KPA) 2.7.10.7.1.2 Engine coolant temperature (degrees F or C) Both left and right bank temperature shall be indicated on V-block engines. 2.7.10.7.1.3 Engine oil temperature (degrees F or C) 2.7.10.7.1.4 Engine speed (rpm) 2.7.10.7.1.5 Exhaust temperature (optional) 2.7.10.7.1.6 Number of hours of operation (hours) 2.7.10.7.1.7 Number of start attempts 2.7.10.7.1.8 Battery voltage (DC volts) 2.7.0.8 The control system shall also incorporate a data logging and display provision to allow logging of the last 10 warning or shutdown indications on the generator set, as well as tolal time of operation at various loads, as a percent of the standby rating of the generator set 2.7.40.9 Generator Control Panel will be fully integrated with BMS system with open protocol for each generator set. The genset controller shall be suitable for BMS interface & all relevant genset data & alarms shall be made available to BMS and required interfacing cards to be provided. 2.7.10.10 The Control Panel should have provision to start/stop buttons & to override the ‘Complete control system with other system, subject to the approval of Engineer / Client. 28 EXHAUST SYSTEM 2.8.1 Exhaust system shall include a dual citical grade silencer including flexible exhaust fitting, properly sized and installed according to the manufacturer's recommendation in order to reduce noise specified under relevant. 282 Silencer shall be mounted so that its weight is not supported by the engine. 283 Exhaust pipe shall have sufficient size to ensure that exhaust back pressure does not exceed the maximum limitations specified by the generator set manufacturer. 284 ‘The muffler and indoor exhaust piping shall be lagged with cladding with suitable material to maintain a surface temperature not to exceed 650C. 285 ‘The insulation shall be installed so that it does not interfere with the functioning of the flexible exhaust fitings 286 Flexible gastight connection pieces shall be provided in the exhaust pipe line to allow for thermal expansion and to prevent vibration being transmitted from the engine. Katib & Alami and Partners Section 26 32 00 Generator Assemblies 26 3200-9 Main Works Contract Project No. MC 1414 Electrical Specifications (Omran Head Quarter & Annex Building-Oman 287 ‘A clearance hole shall be allowed where exhaust pipe passes through to avoid ‘overheating of the surrounding wall Battery Charger: 288 A.10. amp voltage regulated battery charger shall be provided for each engine generator Set. The charger shall be wall mounted. Input AC vollaye and DC ouput voltage shall be ‘as required. Chargers shall be equipped with float, taper and equalize charge settings. 289 ‘The Battery charger should be connected with the BMS system with voltage free contracts to confirm the healthy status of Battery Charger in coordination with BMS supplier. 29 BASE FRAME CONSTRUCTION 29.4 ‘The combined engine-generator unit shall be bolted to a separate sub-frame which wil be attached fo a main frame through RESILIENT MOUNTINGS so providing ‘complete protection from engine vibration for the control gear, radiator and other set mounted components, Mountings under the set will not be considered. 292 ‘The generator shall be mounted on spring type restrained vibration isolators having a static deflection of 50 mm under load conditions, 293 Air inlet and exhaust attenuators shall be fitted in builders work to reduce the transmitted noise to specified levels. The generator room shall have appropriate acoustic treatments, having @ minimum sound transmission loss of 45d8 STG. 294 Base frame shall have four lifting points. 240 Daily Fuel Tank and Fuel Lift Pump 2.40.1 A fuel day tank with sufficient fuel capacity for at least 8 hours duty on full load shall be provided, in a suitable location in the room. A dial type fuel gauge, fue! fier inlet and outlet connections, drain plug and all feed and return fuel pipe shall be fited to the tank ‘complete with hose for filing purposes daily fuel tank to be monitored by BMS system. 2.10.2 The contractor shall supply and install as indicated on the drawings capacity Fuel oil storage tank as indicated on the Drawings, suitable for 8 hours operation and constructed 's0 as to comply with BS 799. The tank shall be carbon steel welded construction and shall be installed, tested and commissioned in complete accordance with BS 799. 2.10.3 The tank shall be painted externally with two coats of rust inhibiting primer and two coats Cf white paint, Shop Drawing of the fuel tank to be forwarded for approval to the Engineer and stage inspection to be carried for the tanks works and submit test reports prior to dispatch of tanks at site, 240.4 An electrical or manual fuel lift pump shall be supplied and installed near the daily fuel tank to lift fuel automatically or manually from the bulk storage tank (if available) to the daily storage tank, Necessary float switches to operate lift pump shall be provided along with signal to monitor level of tank signal for station of fuel transfer pumps. Khatib & Alami and Partners: ‘Section 26 32.00 Generator Assemblies 26 3200-10 Main Works Contract Project No. MC 1411 Electrical Specifications (Omran Head Quarter & Annex Building-Oman 2m ‘Alarm Annunciator 2.14.1 Annunciator shall be constructed of sturdy sheet steel enclosure having a removable front panel and adapter ring, 2.11.2 Annunclator shall be a flush mounting unit. The face of the front pane! shall incorporate nine lamps, an audible alarm, a toggle switch marked NORMAL and OFF, and a lamp test push-button switch. The printed circults internal wiring, terminal block and Lallery voltage sensors shall be accessible on removing the front panel. Indication: High engine temperature “Amber warning /Light I 2.11.4 Additionally following indication lamp shall be provided to show the status of the generator set = Low oil pressure = Excessive coolant temperature ~ Engine over speed = Low fuel supply = Low battery voltage = High battery voltage = Low jacket water temperature 2.41.8 Annunciator panel shall operate on 240V Single phase supply. 2.41.6 The indication lamps shall be twin long life LED type. 2.41.7 Imall.cases, the re-set of lock out shall be done manually. Lamps shall continue to light until the fault is reset 2.11.8 Lamp test facility shall be provided to check the status of lamps. 2.11.9 Alarm and lockout system shall not operate during normal shut down operation. The ppanel to be provided with earth fault relay for protecting the generators in case of earth faults. 342 Generator frame shall be connected to the equipment earthing system through a separate equipment earth conductor. Additionally @ local earth electrode might be required if generator is appreciably remote from the main electrical room. Neutral and frame of {generator shall not be bonded except in the case of local neutral earthing as mentioned above 34.3 “The generator set earthing shall be separate from the general earthing of the building, 32 Quality Assurance 324 ‘The generating set manufacturer shall preferably be the actual manufacturer of either the alternator or the generator and shall be responsible for the assembly. 322 ‘The generator set manufacturer shall have a reliable local representative of good repute, keeping adequate stocks of spare parts and providing etfcient after sales services. 33 Factory Test and Inspection 334 “The diesel set shall be fully assembled and testing will be witnessed by the Engineer and Client Representatives at no extra cost with fuel oil and other associated requirements at the manufacturer's factory, complete with starting control and protection system so as to comply with the following requirements and comprehensive test report to be forwarded, for each unit supplied under the Contract. Scratches and other installation damage shall be repaired prior to final system testing. Equipment shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove all dirt and construction debris prior to final testing of the system. 343 Visual Inspection 3.43.1 All equipment which form part of ‘the diesel generating plant shall be visually inspected for damage and checked against the manufacturer cataloguesidrawings and schedule, for the following:- a. Alignment of engine / alternator assembly on bed plate. b. Installation of vibration isolators 34.2, Preliminary Running Test 41. Preliminary running test to check the following: fa. Engine start and stop control b. Engine oll pressure fc. Generator voltage and frequency including phase sequence 4d. Control and protection devices @. Leaks in oil, water and exhaust 1. Excessive vibration g. Adjustments of meters and potentiometer related to generated output parameters. 346. Load Tests at Site 3.46.1. Theset shall be run continuously for 8 hours test run at rated load followed by 110 percent of rated load for a period of one hour with resistance load banks for checking the parallel, synchronizing, load sharing and load shedding operations. 3.46.2 Every 18 minutes for the first hour and every hour thereafter, the following parameters shall be recorded: 1a. All electrical output parameters associated with main alternator. 347 Transient Load Switching 347A Resistive load shall be applied and switched "ON" and "OFF" in STEPS, with the diesel generator running at rated speed and generating rated voltage. Bulk load transfer test shall be carried by transferring load from 0-0-100% and in reverse order. 847.2 ‘Transient recordings of maximum, minimum and nominal voltage and frequency levels together with the response times shall be obtained by using Oscilograph and Hard copy shall be provided after testing 348 Insulation Test 348.4 Remove all external wiring between the plant and load bank test panels, 34.82 Isolate sensitive electronic equipment in alternator and control panel as per manufacturer's recommendation. 34.8.3 Open any neutral earthing links. 34.8.4 Using 1000V megger check the insulation resistance: a. Between the load terminals and plant structure b. Between the generator terminals. c, Reconnect electronic equipment and neutral earth links, 349 Functional Test 34.9.4 ‘The operation of interlocks and interconnections with all extemal equipment and controls to be connected on site, shall be simulated as part of these tests. 3.4.9.2 Controls, Alarms and Protection Khatib & Alami and Pariners ‘Section 26 32.00 Generator Assemblies 26 32 00-15 Main Works Contract Project No. MC 1411 Electrical Specifications (Omran Head Quarter & Annex Building-Oman 34.93 Local controls, alarms and shutdown functions associated with the generator set installation shall be simulated and demonstrated on site, These tests shall include, but not limited to the following: 3494 High coolant temperature test 34.95 Over speed test 3496 Low oil pressure test 3497 (Over crank test to look after failure to start the engine after five consecutive attempts. 3498 Noise and vibration test; Shall be urdetaken to ensure that the intemal noise and vibration levels as per relevant clauses of the specification 35 PRODUCT DATA 354 ‘The Contractor shall furnish certified performance data and curves as a part of his, proposal and a description of his quality control program, 352 ‘The Manufacturer shall ascertain that his equipment withstands the starting KW and KVA requirements of the connected load as shown on the Drawings. 383 The Contractor shall furnish an outline drawing showing principal dimensions, space requirements, and location of connections of the equipment quoted, mainly for starting, cooling, fuel and lubricating system and ventilation requirements, 384 ‘The Contractor shall provide basic toolkit, engine maintenance handbook, spare parts manual and generating set instruction handbook. 35.5 ‘The Contractor shall itemise all sight low indications, temperature sensing devices, and pressure gauges and indications which will be furnished for local indication of critical items as recommended, If these indicators are standard with the equipment, it shall be so indicated. 386 ‘The Contractor shall furnish complete information, catalogues, with schematic and detailed diagrams showing all equipment furnished and shall include the control system which will describe the operation, manufacturing and type of all instruments and control items. 357 All literature and catalogues shall be in English and Arabic. 36 Shop Drawings 364 ‘The Contractor shall submit for review and acceptance the shop drawings for the Generator set including all necessary civil work details, such as trenches, concrete bases, ftc., generator starting characteristics and manufacturers approval for the generator's correct selection as to connected load, derating factors, etc., wiring diagrams and description of operation 362 ‘A copy of these shop drawings shall also be sent to the local power authorities for approval if needed), 363 ‘Any modifications to the drawings required by the Engineer or the Local Power Authorities to allow the equipment to comply with the codes, standards and ‘specifications called for herein shall be carried out with no extra cost. 364 ‘The shop drawing should be supported with detailed design calculation from Specialist ‘Acoustic treatment Contractor to confirm sound level specifications are met and endorsed by Generator Supplier for confirming clearance for installation. Appointment of Specialist ‘Acoustic treatment Contractor should be priced in the Tender. Khatib & Alami and Partners: Section 26 32 00 Generator Assemblies 26 32.00 - 16 Main Works Contract Project No. MC 1411 Electrical Specifications (Omran Head Quarter & Annex Building-Oman 37 Spare Parts 37.141 The Contractor shall furnish assurance of availability of recommended spare parts from the manufacturers of the DG set for 3 years duly priced with his Tender. 3.7.42 Contractor shall supply spare parts as recommended by the DG set manufacturer for each unit for three (3) years operation conditions, 3.7.14.3 The EmployeriEngineer reserves the right to accept or reject the same either in full or in paart and the contractor shall supply the spare parts as per the final accepted list, at the time of handing over taking over of the Project, 37.144 Spare parts shall be packed in suitable containers or boxes bearing labels, clearly designating the contents and the particular of equipment for which they are intended. 37.145 The Contractor shall properly store and protect the spare parts until the completion of the ‘works and deliver the same to the Client's stores. 3.7.146 Contractor shall supply following list of tools in the tool box. 3.7.14.7 Two sets of spanners from 6mm to 50mm and open type to fit each nut and bolt on the whole of the plant covered by this Contract. 3.7.4.8 Two sets of spanners from 6mm to 50mm and Close type to fit each nut and bolt on the whole of the plant covered by this Contract. 37.149 Two sets of Heavy duly Screw Drivers from 0-5 size for flat and Philips head to be supplied for the whole of the plant covered by this Contract. 37.14.10 Two sets of any special tools and gauges required for the normal maintenance of the entire plant covered by this Contract. 37.14.11 One set of any special iting and handling appliances required for the normal maintenance of the whole of the plant covered by this Contract 3.7.14.12 Tools and appliances mentioned in this section shall be supplied in too! kits boxes of mild steel construction and suitably marked in white letters, The number of boxes shall be determined in relation to the layout and itemization of the plant and each box shall be of such weight as to be conveniently handled 3.743 Record Drawings 3.7.13.1 Three complete sets of drawings of all items of the plant shall be supplied by the Contractor nt later than one month before the commencement of the reliability run. These shall be white prints and properly lettered and numbered so as to identify every part for ‘maintenance, repairs and ordering of spare parts 37.132 These drawings shall be properly bound with durable covers and include a title page and detailed index, the front being clearly marked "DIESEL GENERATOR" 37.13.3 In addition to the three bound sets of drawings, the Contractor shall provide one soft copies in AutoCAD and PDF formats. Khatib & Alami and Partners Section 26 32 00 Generator Assemblies 26 3200-17 Main Works Contract Project No. MC 1411 Electrical Specifications ‘Omran Head Quarter & Annex Building-Oman 3.744 Instruction Manuals 3.7141 At the time of commissioning of the plant and prior to the issue f the taking-over of certificate, the Contractor shall provide three (3) copies of instruction manuals to the ‘approval of the Engineer and covering all tems of the plant taken over. 37.142 Full comprehensive instruction manuals shall be provided, describing the installation as a Whole and giving a step by step procedure for any operation likely to be carried out during the life of the plant, including erection, commissioning, testing, operation, maintenance, repairs, dismantling and preventive maintenance 3.7.14.3 A mere collection of manufacturer's descriptive leaflets will not be acceptable as compliance with this Clause. All drawings and diagrams shall be reduced to convenient size and incorporated in the bound manuals and shall not be inserted into cover pockets. Instruction to Local Staff 3,7.144 The Contractor shall be deemed to have included in his tender for the training by his staff of the employer's own technical staff intended for the future operation and maintenance of the plant 3.7.14.5 For the purpose of tuition, the English language will be used and the Employer's will reserve the right to send to the Site those employees at any period during the erection andlor maintenance period. 38 Warranty 384 ‘The Contractor shall provide the generator supplier's warranty, warranting that the ‘equipment supplied under this specification will be new, of best quality free from defects, indesign, material, and workmanship and suitable for the specified operating conditions. 382 ‘Any defects or inadequacies discovered in the equipment during first three years ‘operation from date of commissioning of equipment, shall be made good to the satisfaction of the Engineer at the Contractors cost. 383 ‘Any equipment repaired, replaced or modified shall be subject to a defect free warranty for a further period of Twelve months from the date of repair, replacement or modification, Khatib & Alami and Partners: ‘Section 26 52 00 Generator Assemblies 26 3200-18
