towards making this industrial visit a great success. This is the golden chance to explore the real life equipment that I maybe never to see it again. SOGT has a role to receive, store and export crude oil. Beside that it also receives, process, compress and transport the gas produced from the fields offshore Sabah. At SOGT I being told by SOGT staff, they having a gas pipe line with a total length about 500km! I was shock when I get to know this information from the SOGT staff. The pipeline is named Sabah Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP). It transports 750 MMcf/d of gas from SOGT to Petronas LNG Complex at Bintulu. To protect the gas line, I been told that all natural gas goes through dehydrating process before they transfer through the gas line. They use glycol dehydration process which has the tallest unit in the SOGT. Dehydration process does not involve any chemical reaction but the temperature and pressure is crucial to maintain the dehydration process work effectively. Besides that, the dehydration process is a close system process. It helps reduce the cost of replenishing the glycol and protect our mother nature. Even though, we are not allow leave the van during the visit, due to the safety reason, my mine blown away when I say the complexity of the pipeline, wiring, equipment and control panel. I learn a lot form this visit especially project management. We need to plan every detail and think out of the box before we start the project to prevent delay and over budget of a project.
