INVESTIGATION

The noblest architecture can sometimes do less

for us than a siesta or an aspirin Even if we
could spend the rest of our lives in the Villa
Rotunda or the Glass House, we would still often
be in a bad mood.
- Alain de Botton, The Architecture of Happiness

This conceptualization recalls the statement by
David Greene of Archigram that people
are [indeed] walking architecture
[...] who carries knowledge sensors with
him/ her (quoted in Deamer, 1997,
p. 199). While further emphasizing the
relational dialectic between virtual
reality, fashion, and architecture, Pavitt
(2008, p. 101) draws her conclusion
that contemporary architecture was to
become not only shelter from
environmental conditions, but also a kind
of filter for media and information.

"It was interesting to use the

device and find out that it
actually worked well," said
Wilcox.

This image is from a ball in New York City (in 1931), famous architects dressed as buildings they had
designed! The Chrysler building guy in the middle looks like hes a bad guy from the power rangers
.I guess that for architects its normal to make models of their buildings, so these costumes are just
another step in playing with scale. Another group of New York artists: the New York Five are pictured
below: wearing their own designs for a 1996 Vanity Fair feature.
