Pre and Posttest for Post Secondary Planning Group

PRE AND POSTTEST

The following pre and posttests are to be administered at the beginning and conclusion of
a six-week small counseling group for 12th graders about post-secondary planning. The
purpose of this group is to help students gain understanding of their skills and interests and use
this knowledge to construct their post secondary plan through the use of interest inventories,
Virginia Wizards interactive career planning features, goal-setting, and decision-making
practice. The students who will be accepted into the counseling group have demonstrated an
unclear idea for their life after high school graduation and need extra support to formulate their
career path. The pre and posttests for this group are identical except for the final open-ended
question on each test. The pretest open-ended question asks for what students hope to learn from
the group and the posttest open-ended question asks for feedback to improve future counseling
small groups focusing on this topic.
