Researchers have discovered four new crab species nam

Paguristes luculentus, Diogenes canaliculatus, Pagu
spinossior and Afropinnotheres ratnakara in Kerala.

Paguristes luculentus: It is a hermit crab species belonging to the family Diogeni

ratnakara in Sanskrit means Indian Ocean.
About Hermit Crabs
Hermit crabs are ubiquitous animals. They are often considered to be true crabs
they are not.
They live in abandoned gastropod (snail) shells in order to protect themselves.

They lack an external shell and have soft abdomen compared to other crabs spec
which makes them vulnerable to predators.

Union Government has approved induction of women into

Fighter branch of Indian Air Force (IAF).

Henceforth, women are eligible to get inducted in all branc

and streams of the Air Force.

Union Defence Ministry has taken this decision keeping in v

the aspirations of Indian women and in line with contemporary trends in Armed For
of developed nations.

Under the new rules, the first women fighter pilots would be selected from the ba
which is presently undergoing flying training at Air Force Academy in Hyderab
Telangana.

These women pilots will be commissioned into the fighter stream in June 2016 a
successful completion of initial training. Thereafter, they would undergo advan
training for 1 year and would enter a fighter cockpit by June 2017.
Presently, there are around 1,500 women in the IAF including 94 pilots and
navigators. IAF is also inducting women in Transport and Helicopter streams.
