Sequence of Daily Objectives

Students will describe a character in a story using specific details in the

text like the characters thoughts, words, or actions.
Students will determine the meaning of words and phrases from a story,
including those that reference important characters from mythology.

Golden Touch myth

Day 3: The Tangled Web & The Story of Medusa and Athena

Students will describe a character in a story using specific details in the

text like the characters thoughts, words, or actions.
Students will determine the theme of a story or play from details in the
text.
Students will compare and contrast themes, topics, and events in stories
from different countries.
Major Concepts: Identifying character traits and theme of two stories;
comparing and contrasting two stories

Days 4-5: Perseus and Medusa & The Hunt for Medusas Head

Students will identify new learning that has taken place during the unit
of Greek mythology
Students will evaluate their prior knowledge and identify any
misconceptions they had

Day 14: Unit Review & Assessment

Students will identify common themes across all of Greek mythology

Students will create a trading card that accurately portrays a Greek god
or goddess
Students will write a myth using the theme of goodness being rewarded
and evil being punished using two mythological characters.
