Lesson Planning is strength of Alyssas.


Plans are thorough and address all key aspects of a well-designed
lesson.
Her effective implementation of the lesson results from her sound
lesson planning. Her plan is coherent, very well organized and easy
to follow.
Begins the lesson by explicitly stating the focus for the day and
providing clear instructions for each learning experience/task that is
part of the plan.
The agenda for the day is posted and the cooperative groups (7
groups today) are posted.
PowerPoint notes/instruction works very well to guide the lesson,
help students visualize the concepts, and refer to what they are
doing
Alyssa is very skilled at using the Smart Board.
Consider asking students to repeat to each other in pairs or have a
volunteer share with the whole class what is expected (what they
are to do) for each task.

eager to do so.
Alyssa has a very calm and relaxed dispositionwhich has calming
effect on the classroom.
Very good rapport and relationship with students.
Considerations:
Give more wait timeanother 2-3 seconds
Be sure to scan the entire room to see the hands going up to
answer/respond. Even if you cant call on all the students with their
hands up/or take their responseacknowledge them and explain
that there isnt enough time.

--Very effective visualthe puzzle was very effective in explaining
inferences (putting the puzzle pieces together).
--Provided prompts for students
--Modeled what students should do (worked very well)underlined in the
paragraphconnected to ration (because of her background knowledge
about the military). Then asked students to look at next paragraph-based
on clues in the text and their background knowledge
--Paraphrases student responses well/clearly. Be sure to continue
paraphrasing or repeating student responses especially when the class
cannot hear the student responsese.g. the great inference given about
starving and dehydrating and the girl in the front of the room in the pink
and blue tie-dyed shirt.
--Responded very effectively (respectfully and supportive) to the student
(girl) with special needs, e.g. Yes, so we can look at more important
words.
Uses articles that are current event and students can relate to.
Effective use of the post-its for the group work aspect of the lesson.

thoughtfully completed and met the criteria/expectations and your teaching lessons as part of your field have been very well developed and taught. You are well on
