TEACHING EXPERIENCE
- Develping curriculum for PhotoVoice program, focusing on the culture and community of Minneapoliss North Side.
- Teaching students kindergarten through 8th grade about digital photography, while making social justice connections.
- Making connections with local artists and gallery spaces.
- Developed lessons based Minneapolis Public Schools art curriculum and utilized their I can statements daily along with
responsive classroom procedures.
- Demonstrated drawing, watercolor painting, clay hand-building, glazing, collage, portraiture, printmaking, multi-media,
some were demonstrated using a document camera and/or time-lapse videos.
- Assessed student work through their artworks, participation, and sketchbooks that included preliminary drawings, art
history facts, vocabulary, and daily drawings.
- Taught & created accommodations for ELL students & students with IEPs including a large autism group.
- Developed & instructed culturally relevant, visual art curricula for 9 th-12th grade students.
- Demonstrated drawing, traditional painting, digital painting, Photoshop, paper cutting, book
binding, printmaking, multi-media & collage.
- Conducted small group & full classroom discussions & critiques.
- Assessed student work through final projects, preliminary work in sketchbooks, written
reflections, & verbal reflections & critiques. Utilizing the Middle Years Program rubrick style.
- Gave students positive & constructive feedback & individual instruction, in order for them to
develop art making skills & conceptual ideas.
- Taught & created accommodations for ELL students & students with IEPs.
