My name is Alyssa Toetz and I am a senior at Alverno College, majoring in
Elementary Middle Education with a support in English Language Arts. Thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio and assess my materials. I believe that my journey through the Alverno Education program has helped me to determine the kind of teacher I want to be. Through Alverno I have learned that effective teachers are always learning and evolving; they are constantly looking for ways to improve the classroom for the benefit of their students. In my teaching career I will continue the practice of life long learning so I am always able to facilitate the best teaching approaches and strategies for my students. My artifacts and videos illustrate my progress over the course of four years. I have organized my portfolio according to field placements. In these placements I have artifacts that provide rationales in connection with the ten Wisconsin Teaching Standards and Alverno Education Abilities. My explanations of these artifacts support my understanding of the standards and abilities. Thank you again for taking time to review my progress. Warm regards, Alyssa A.
