ProjectAbstract(includeALLprojectgoal(s),designconstraints,andtechnicalapproachesandtools):
One of the more complex problems faced by PwCs cyber security clients is mastering the
relationship between end-user behavior and actionable intelligence data in order to better protect
their overall environment. One of the major factors that drives the complexity around this issue is the
number of false positives created by todays behavior analytics inspection engines. By better
engaging and educating end-users as to how their behavior may translate into a digital risk rating
and what actions they can take to minimize this rating, we think that a client could improve the
efficiency and effectiveness with which many of their security functions operate.
The goal of this project is to develop:
1. An end-user risk profiling framework based on cyber behavior and tendencies in a given
environment
2. Baseline expected behavior on a user by user basis
3. Anomalous behavior detection system driven off of user activity triggers
4. End-user engagement methodology and mechanism in which the user is: presented with real-time
indicators around their current risk classification or profile, notified/engaged upon identification of
potentially anomalous behavior, and educated on what factors are currently driving their risk
classification and what they can do to reduce this metric
