9/11 Attack
There were many things America did to provoke Al Qaeda to attack us. One cause is U.S.
supporting Israel. The U.S. helped protect Israel from Muslims. After WWII the Jews had no
land so they were given Israel. This became a problem because the Muslim's most holy temple is
in Israel but the Jews are the owners of the land. This made Osama mad because he was Muslim.
This also made Osama made at the U.S. because they supported Israel. The U.S. also sent troops
in Saudi Arabia. This made Al Qaeda feel threatened by how much power America has. Someone
with that much power would make someone very defensive because if they wanted they could
take over their smaller country. This put Osama on the offensive side. What might have put
Osama on the edge is how the U.S. bombed Iraq and killed Muslim civilians. This would have
made him mad because the U.S. was killing innocent Muslims.
The actions of the U.S. made Bin Laden want to get revenge so he planned 9/11. He had the
plan to attack the U.S. by flying four planes into four of the most important buildings in the U.S.
He sent men to the U.S. to learn to fly. These men were just ordinary men who had never done
anything wrong, until now. These men took flying lessons in America and then got tickets to
cross continental flights. They chose these flights because back before 9/11 they used the planes
that now normally fly international. On each plane were a group of men. Some very strong, to
take over the cockpit, and some who learned to fly, to fly the plane into the buildings.
On September 9th 2001 four planes crashed killing a total of 2,973 people. One plane hit
Trade Center 1 and one hit Trade Center 2. Both of these towers collapsed taking anyone who
was still in the building down with it. The third plane was flown into the Pentagon. Although this

event is not as widely mourned on 9/11, it is still a very tragic event in American history because
many people were killed. The fourth and final plane was intended to hit the White House but the
brave passengers who were being held hostage took the plane back and crashed in a field in
Pennsylvania. This is when the famous let's roll. was said. All four of these planes caused a lot
of damage to America. A wound that would soon be healed by the power of patriotism.
The 9/11 attack kickstarted America's patriotism. The day after everyone has an American
flag in their yard. Everyone is America was mad at terrorists for what they had just done. Even
famous artists created songs like courtesy of the red, white, and blue. This also started the very
high security checkpoints at airports. Before 9/11 there were very little security checkpoints. You
were aloud to bring on box cutters and letter openers. Now if you have something that even looks
like a weapon they will have the who FBI investigating. In effect of 9/11 lots of safety
precautions were taken to prevent an event like this to happen again, because of 9/11 America is
doing everything they can to stop terrorism.
