IDEA
The purpose of the project: The purpose of the project is to create a game based off the
popular game on mobile devices, Flappy Bird. For copyright reasons, we based the same
physics and idea of the game off of the game but used different images/sprites for the game.
Calling it Flappy Thug, the games costume ideas were taken from popular memes (internet
term). Back to the whole idea, the idea is to pass through the moving barriers with your bird that
has a slightly predictable drop rate. By pressing spacebar, you can ascend; by releasing
spacebar, you will descend.
Contributors to the project:
BRONSON MIKLE: Script creator
CHRIS RISTOW: Idea manager
AARON WALSH: Tester, responsible for feedback
Specifications/Requirements:

User interaction
The user should be able to use keyboard and/or mouse input in a way that
fundamentally affects what happens.
Objective
The game should have an objective with several or as many degree of
progress toward the objective as possible. A score would be sufficient, but many
alternatives exist.
Multiple states
The game should include different states in order for the user to
experience variety. Levels during which the difficulty changes or bonus stages
appear would be sufficient, but
many alternatives exist.
Time spent: To be specific, the amount of
time brainstorming, generating sprites,
testing/fixing, and scripting took a total of
about 4 hours.
Materials used: The materials used in this
project (tools, equipment, software, etc.)
include a computer, a generic sprite
creator, and YouTube resource videos to
help understand the concepts of the idea.
Procedure:
A variable I used in this game is Gravity.
Gravity was a large part of the whole
ascending/descending process. Making
the birds velocity more realistic and
appealing.

A look inside the obstacle portion of the

game. What these scripts do is creates a
clone that starts with a random costume.
When the clone appears, it rolls off the
screen and disappears; the process then
starts over.
What weve learned:
What my group members and I have
learned from this project is the
importance of variables. Without
variables, scripts would be plenty more
complicated and extensive. I see
variables as shortcuts or bridges to a
seemingly hard obstacle.
SUMMARY
The overall task of this project was completed with little difficulties thanks to YouTube
tutorials. The game was pretty decent but in my opinion, I believe the scripts could have
been touched up, maybe even some scripts could have been added to make the game
less buggy. The only thing Id do different in this project is make the game itself more
appealing, but technically, the was not the objective of the project.
