Course Description.
Sqantillana Espaol Textbook and Workbook Level 1.
Audio CD for Listening Comprehension of Textbook Units.
Course Description: Elementary Spanish First Semester includes Basic oral and aural Spanish--pronunciation,
reading, writing, and grammar. Corresponds to the first year of high school Spanish. Learning how to communicate
and write correctly is the goal of this course as well as the preparation necessary to continue on to the next level.
Required materials for class everyday

Practice Workbook, Level 1. Provided by Miramar High School.

Spanish-English, English-Spanish Dictionary, available in the classroom.

Class Rules and Expectations.


1- Attendance is the most important part of your duty when you enroll in a class. Being present in class
everyday is a must to be successful and pass your Spanish class with an A. If you are going to be Tardy to class
make sure to have a pass, place it on my desk and go immediately to your assigned seat.
2- Bring your Compositon Notebook everyday to class, pencil or pen blue or black. Use a backpack to keep all
your school supplies and be able to complete your work properly.
You must keep your Academic Notebook neat, hand writing legible and all asignments in cronological order.
Which means from day 1 to the last day of school. I check notebooks everyday.
3- Start your Ccomposition notebook everyday with the following headings:

4- I expect you to Be Seated as soon as you enter your class, at the sencond bell and start getting ready
to work on your composition notebook, writing the date, name for the assignment, and page in the textbook to
do the bell work. As we mentioned above.
5 -Homework is due at the Beginning of the Period, when the bell rings.
6- If your absence is EXCUSED, you are responsible to obtain your notes and assignments from someone in class
or from me. You are allowed to turn your work in two days.

7- There is no reason to leave your seat during class unless instructed. There is no reason to engage in
conversations unrelated to the class work we are doing. If you finish early, you will make flash cards from index
cards and memorize your vocabulary.
8- Class ends when I dismiss you. Lining up at the door when the bell rings is not acceptable.
9- Please, keep your class room tidy. Dont throw your papers or trash on the floor, use the trash can.
10- Respect is expected to be displayed at all times. Do not Interrupt when I or another student is talking. Raise
your hand and wait to be called on if you have a question.
11- Eating, drinking sodas, or gum is not permitted in the classroom.
12- Electronic devices such as cell phones, IPods, MP3 players, etc. are not to be used in the classroom.
13- Tutoring is available on Mondays after school or in the Media Center. Make sure your parent or guardian knows
you are staying after school for tutoring.
Assessment
You will be graded on your performance on: Quizzes, Tests, Class work, Homework, Projects and on your
Composition notebook. Every assignment has a point value. The more points you have the higher your grade.
Extra Credit will be awarded by
1-

Bell to Bell Good class participation.

2- Attending Tutoring after school, participating in World Language

Competitions.
