strengthening relations
between the two countries.

Australian capital Monday on a
four-day visit to the
neighboring country to
meet with Rudd, to
discuss statistic points
on relatively low trade
and investment, cultural
relations between the
two countries and the
huge potential both have
in those fields.
“Although we
can't gain trust overnight,
the visit will be a golden
opportunity for
Yudhoyono to raise
awareness in Australia
that Indonesia matters
and has good intentions
for the benefit of both
countries,” Alexius
Jemadu, the University
of Pelita Harapan's
School of Political and
Social Sciences dean,
said.
He said that Yudhoyono
could explain to Australia that
Indonesia was a reliable partner in
the fight against terrorism and
other security threats, including
illegal fishing and people

“We must acknowledge
that Indonesians and Australians
regard each other suspiciously,”

A poll by the Lowy Institute
think-tank shows more than half of
the Australian population do not
trust Indonesia to act responsibly in
the world, and polling in Indonesia
suggests the lukewarm feelings are
mutual.
Fergus Hanson, research
fellow at the Lowy Institute, wrote in

“While government relations
are better, there's a tendency to
focus on negative issues such as

(PHRI) views that the number
of starred hotels, melati-class
hotels, and tourism cottages
in Bali far exceeds demand.

rooms in Bali is more than
55,000 - a number the PHRI
thinks exceeds by more than
twice the needed supply of
24,000 rooms.

The jungle drums have been
pounding this week with the
sound of the new laws being
considered for those foreign
men wishing to marry
Indonesian woman. I have
listened to several conversations
regarding these possible new
laws, with the general consensus
being negative. I guess the reality
is should a foreign man get a local
girl pregnant and decide that he
doesn't wanna deal with it, he can
just leave and never return. This
in itself causes problems as the
mother is faced with a life of
poverty having to deal with
education and all the things that
cost a quid without the support of
her man. Leaving the money in a
government trust account doesn't
sit well with me, as we all know
what problems could arise in this
instance.
I did hear a good point when
discussing the situation with old
mate massage man, who asked
what the story would be if an
Indonesian man married a foreign
girl? Would the same rules
apply??? Or do the foreign women
have no trouble with money or
being single mothers?? A good
point mate. At the end of the day
the powers that be, will decide the
best course of action and in their
infinite wisdom will make the right
choice for their countrymen.

men will have to watch what they
do, as it would simply take a local
girl getting pregnant to a stray

earning 500 million rupiah. Not a
bad night's work by any stretch of

I did have the opportunity to go to a
great little place in Echo beach
called “The Beach House “now on
the menu they say “Hard To Find
And Harder To Forget” I will tell you
both statements are true, it is very
hard to find however once you've
been there you will definitely want to
go back. The place is absolutely
fantastic. They do this barbeque
every night with all fresh salads
included. Arguably the best value
I've had in Bali. They have the
legendary band “Crazy Horse”
playing till 9.30pm so it's not a late
night for a Sunday. Fantastic. (I
hope to see them advertising in the
paper soon) Anyways I'm sitting
back with old mate AFL Big boy and
the bands playing and everything is
good. The band finishes the song
and a fellow comes on stage and
asks for the microphone which the
band obliges. This bloke looks a bit

Bob Geldof has again
denied claims that

Last week a BBC
investigation claimed only a
small percentage of donations
raised through the 1985 Band
Aid and Live Aid concerts for
famine relief actually reached
those starving in northern
Ethiopia.
Two former rebels told
the BBC they posed as
merchants in meetings with
charity workers to get aid
money, which was then used for
rebel activities to overthrow the
government.
A former member of the
Tigrayan People's Liberation
Front, Aregawi Berhe, told the
BBC that rebel army leader
Meles Zenawi divided the funds
up among rebel groups.
"I remember Meles
Zenawi suggesting that 50 per
cent of that money should go to
TPLF activists, 45 per cent
should go to MLNT
organising and 5 per cent to
support the victims," he said.
The BBC's Africa

Hindu temple set on the cliff bank in
south part of Bali Peninsula. It is one
of Sad Kahyangan Temple in Bali
(six big groups of Bali Temples),
located in Pecatu Village, Sub
district of South Kuta, and Badung
Regency or about 25 Km southerly
part of Denpasar town. It is situated
on the coral reef sordid to sea
about 80 meters above the sea
level. It is featured by a small dry
forest which is mostly called by
Alas Kekeran (interdict forest)

and other animal. Name of
Uluwatu was come from the
word Ulu meaning the head and

Uluwatu Temple mean the
