This course will support school leaders, Safeguarding Officers, E-safety Officers and Computing subject leaders to better understand how to manage e-safety in primary and secondary schools. Delegates will learn about expectations from organisations such as Ofsted and ISI, the role of school leaders and teachers, and examples of the best practice from around the UK, to ensure that they are fully aware of how to manage this important area of pupil safeguarding. Course content 1. The view of the law, Ofsted and the DfE: what schools need to know 2. Examples of current best practice across the UK 3. Exploration of the current issues facing young people using new technologies 4. Resources to support the teaching of e-safety principles 5. Digital professionalism and the role of teachers and school leaders 6. Is it worth the effort? Measuring the impact 7. Question and answer session: what do you still want to know?
