My Career Path

Nicole Nwanganga

My name is Nicole Nwanganga and


Im half Nigerian on my mothers
side.
I was born in Springfield, Illinois on
December 19th, 1997.

MY FAMILY AND ACTIVITIES


I have an older brother named
Collin who lives in Missouri, and
an older sister named Rosie
who lives in Illinois.
Im in a club called New
Horizons and I also work
on weekends.

MY FAVORITES!
My favorite foods are salad
and french fries.
My favorite movies have to
be The Great Gatsby and
The Wolf of Wall Street

MY PERSONALITY TYPE: ESTJ


ESTJ stands for Extravert, Sensing, Thinking and
Judging.
ESTJs are people who thrive on order and
continuity; being extroverts they enjoy being in
organizations and working with others.
My learning styles are hands on and enjoying
working without the idea of being rewarded.

Clinical Psychologist,
Clinical Psychologists focus on
treating and diagnosing mental,
emotional and/or behavioral disorders.
Some examples of these disorders
include: learning disabilities,
substance abuse, eating disorders and
etc.

PSYCHOLOGIST SALARY
The average salary for a Clinical
Psychologist ranges from $45,000$106,000 depending on the level of
education the person received.
Ex:
0-5 years of education: $66,000 average
5-10 years of education: $76,000 average
10-20 years of education: $88,000 and up

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
An undergraduate degree

is required before entering


a Doctoral program in
Clinical Psychology.

So overall about 4 years of


education minimum.

ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONS


To be a psychologist you need to be licensed and a
certificate will be granted to you after your
graduation. If one chooses to further their
education in their Psychology degree then they will
be given more certificates and possibly licenses.
Two things that could affect a Clinical Psychologists
earnings is if they further their education in their
degree or if they formed their own individual
company over their degree.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY DAILY


WORK
On a daily basis a Clinical
Psychologist has to keep detailed
records of clients, do assessments
on clients, hypothesize a possible
diagnosis, possibly work with
doctors, and keep in contact with
their clients even after business
hours.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Usually work indoors in private offices
with comforting space for their clients.
Depending on where the Psychologist
works can determine their hours. If
they work in a private office building,
they may choose their days and hours.
If they work for a company then it
their hours are usually on typical
business days (Mondays through
Fridays) and sometimes Saturdays.

OCCUPATIONAL OUTLOOK

The growth of psychologists is predicted to


rise within the next 10 years, so demand on
Clinical Psychologists will grow exponentially.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES


OF CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
Advantages in working as a Psychologist include being able
to gain knowledge of mental disorders, feeling incredible
by helping someone confront or conquer their issue, and
being able to be self-employed.
Some disadvantages of working as a Psychologist could be
managing vast amounts of paperwork, and having to work
around sometimes demanding and unstable clients.

PERSONAL SKILLS
Two personal skills a person should have in
order to be a psychologist is openmindedness and patience. A person must be
comfortable with working with people who
are dealing with life issues.
One related occupation is a Forensic
Psychologist. Forensic Psychologists study
criminals or evidence to lead to a criminal
and are forced to make predictions and
evaluations or the type of person who would
commit the crime, or why the person might
have committed the crime.

PREPARATION
I believe this would be a great career for me
because I could see myself working as a
Psychologist for many years without ever being
unhappy with my decision.
