The Math Jam is the BEST thing that has happened to me so far in college.

LePoint was our professor for the Math Jam. Professor LePoint would start with a lecture of how
to do certain math lessons in the mornings. After the morning lectures, she would send us to our
tutors in classrooms around PCC. In our classes, our tutors would go over the lesson again just in
case we didnt understand something from the lecture. The tutors were really helpful and
understanding when it came to points of confusions. I met interesting classmates that came from
different cities, states, and even from outside of the country. Even though everyone at the Math
Jam had different personalities, everyone one had the same common objective which is to get
EDUCATED.
Before the Math Jam, I was looking through some papers that stated the classes I had to
take. I was freaking out so much because in high school, I took a year off of math and science.
So I had forgotten EVERYTHING that I have learned in high school. Thanks to the Pathways
program, I had the opportunity to get my Math skills refreshed and back on track.
Olympia LePoint has motivated me to continue my educational career due to her
background story. She told us that when she was in school, she did really badly in math and
science. Now shes a rocket scientist! Hard work and dedication is what is needed in order to be
successful. One can reach what one wants if one puts in the effort needed.
Although college is completely different from high school; college is the place to be
focused and ready for whatever comes in our way. Thanks to the Pathways program, I have a
better understanding of how college works. HELLO.
