Students prior knowledge and experience:
Students have had previous practice on topic and have participated in certain aspect of this
topic previously. Students are aware of ORACY requirements and understand that they are
required to present their novels in future.

- Request Miss Green (E.A), be present to assist students with learning and supervising
those who prefer to record their readings.

All students on an independent education plan,
10/14 have attendance alerts
1 dyslexic
Attendance can affect students knowledge of requirements, however all have
been informed on class website (Edmodo) to bring their novels.
However if novel is forgotten, students will be given an alternative/spare.
Students may have issues with public speaking and therefore given the option to
record on a computer and email their presentation.

Learning Experiences:
1. Introduction: (How will I engage the learners?)
Introduce lesson and 3 DOs plus 1 DO NOT techniques to students
Elaborate on what is expected. i.e If you are covering your face with
the book, is you voice going to be loud and sufficient enough to
engage audience
Inform students that they will be given time to practice readings in
pairs

2. Sequence of learning experiences: (What will you do to help the


students achieve the learning objectives? What tasks and activities will
the students be involved in to help achieve the learning objectives?)
Students will write down the tips given and practise in pairs to read their
parts to each other enforcing their advice given.
Teacher will walk around and monitor student behaviour, ensuring that
they are on task.

Teacher will call students back to the room and they will deliver their
reading parts to the class.

3. Lesson conclusion: (How will you summarise the learning and relate it
to the lesson objectives?)
Ask why it is important to practise readings before final performance
Ask students to elaborate on reasons behind the tips given.
(Offer chocolate + stickers as reinforcers)
