Welcome back Class of 2016!!!

Your SENIOR year is finally here,

and it will fly by faster than you
think. There are so many things
that take place throughout your
senior year and with that comes
expenses. As your senior advisor
I will do my best to ensure that
you are kept up to date. I will be
sending out newsletters and
posting messages on the Edsby
Class of 2016 group. Information
provided is for both the student
and parent, so it will include everything from test reminders to
social events and everything in
between. Keep an eye out for important links included in postings. These links will provide you
with information that will answer most of your questions,
however, please feel free to contact me at anytime at
cfernandez@bdchs.org.
By now you should have taken or be scheduled to take the
SAT or ACT. Many college application deadlines are late October
or early November, so it is extremely important that you have
scores on record to submit. Some
schools may also require letters
of recommendation, so it is advised that students reach out to
those who they wish to write the
letters well in advance as a courtesy. There are many fees associated with the college application
process, so please keep this in
mind when budgeting for the
coming months. Please be reminded that if you receive free or
reduced lunch are eligible for
SAT/ACT and application waivers. So it may be worth your
while if there have been changes
in the financial status of your
family.
One of the biggest challenges
for your Senior year is being able
to afford all of it. So BDCHS has

implemented a Senior Package

system to help alleviate some of
those challenges. The Senior
Package includes all the fees for
all Senior activities (shirt, hoodie,
senior day, homecoming, Grad
Bash weekend trip, prom, yearbook, senior banquet and cap &
gown). The Senior Package for
2016 will be $600. The Senior
Package includes all the fees for
all Senior activities (shirt, hoodie,
senior day, homecoming, Grad
Bash weekend trip, prom, yearbook, senior banquet and cap &
gown). To make things easier we
have broken down the package
into monthly payments of $75
with the first payment due in
September and then each month
with the final balance due by
Spring Break.
The yearbook is also running
an early bird Senior Ad special
until October 1st. Full page senior ads can be purchased for $99.
This is a savings of $26. The page
design is your choice so this is a
great opportunity to split the
page with friends or other family
members making it very reasonable. Payments for senior package
and yearbook ad are made payable to BDCHS and can be turned
into Ms. Fernandez. Please make
sure to write the students name
in the memo.
One of the great opportunities
that seniors have is the Senior
Spring Break trip. We will be
traveling to London, Paris, Berlin
and Prague March 9th - 19th.
This will be my 4th trip out of the
country with students and I have
to say the trip gets better each
year. Please refer to the website
listed for more information.
Once again I look forward to
working with all of you this
school year.
