RATIONALE
The growth of cooperative as a tool of economic development can only be realized if
a cooperative has a management capability, membership support and the necessary
funds to reach its goals that shall benefit the members in particular and the
community in general.
A major concern of the cooperative is the high prices of agricultural products offered
by various suppliers in the province. Another factor that hinders farmers from good
profit is the problem on limited supply and high costs of agricultural inputs. Some
farmers who avail credit form private traders could not negotiate better selling price
for their produce because the trader (at the same time the creditor) fully dictates
buying prices. In response to these concerns, ORAYT Multi-Purpose Cooperative
identified agri-inputs trading as one of the very potential projects that should be
established since the cooperative is onwards to its programs in helping its
membership and the community in providing basic services as well as concentrating
efforts to contribute to the solutions of the problems.
It is merely that the cooperative shall engaged in the strengthening agri-inputs trading
to provide ready accessible and fair priced cost of agricultural production which
nothing but owned by the cooperative people.
There will be two kinds of service activities that will be implemented in the project
cash selling of the agri-inputs and loaning in kind. In loaning in kind activity, the
farmers who lack cash capital for its production can borrow from the cooperative
items like fertilizers, seeds, pesticides and others. The farmers will pay the amount
after harvest plus the reasonable corresponding interest.

To improve the quality of life of members by providing working capital for
additional income-generating activities.
