UNITI
1. A circle of 50 mm diameter rolls on a horizontal line for 3/4 of a
revolution clockwise. Draw the path traced by a point P on the
circumference of the circle. Also draw a tangent and normal at any point
on the curve.
2. A circular wheel of 50 mm diameter rolls without slipping along a
straight line. Draw the curve traced by a point ‘P’ on its rim for one
revolution of the wheel. Draw tangent and normal at any point M on the
curve.
3. Draw a hyperbola when the distance between focus and directrix is 50
mm and eccentricity is 3/2.Also draw the tangent and normal at a point
25 mm from the directrix.
4. Draw the front, top and side views of the isometric view of the object
shown belowUNIT II
1. Acone of base diameter 60 mm and altitude 80 mm rests on the HP with
its axis inclined at 30° to the HP and parallel to the VP. Draw its front
and top views.
2. A line LM 70 mm long has its end L 10mm above HP and 15 mm in front
of VP. Its top view and front view measures 60 mm and 40 mm
respectively. Draw the projections of the line and determine its
inclinations with HP and VP.. A regular pentagon of 30 mm side is resting on one of its edges on HP
which is inclined at 45 degree to VP. Its surface is inclined at 30 degree
to HP. Draw its projections.
. A pentagon of side 30 mm rests on the ground on one of its corners with
the sides containing the corner being equally inclined to the ground. The
side opposite to the corner on which it rests is inclined at 30° to the VP
and is parallel to the HP. The surface of the pentagon makes 50” with the
ground. Draw the top and front views of the pentagon
UNIT IIL
. Acylinder of base diameter 50 mm and axis height 70 mm resting on one
of its generators on HP with its axis inclined at 45° to VP. Draw its
projection.
. Ahexagonal prism of base side 35mm and height 60mm rests with one of
its rectangular faces on HP. If the axis is inclined at 30° to VP draw its
projections.
. A tetrahedron of edges 30 mm rests on one of its edges on the VP. That
edge is normal to the HP. One of the faces containing the resting edge is
inclined at 30° to the VP. Draw the projections of the tetrahedron.
. Draw the projections of a cylinder of diameter 40 mm and axis 70 mm
long when it rests on the VP on one of its base points. The axis of the
cylinder is parallel to HP and inclined at 30° to VP.@
UNIT IV
. Draw the development of the lateral surface of the lower portion of a
cylinder of diameter 50 mm and axis 70 mm. The solid is cut by a section
plane inclined at 40° to HP and perpendicular to VP and passing through
the midpoint of the axis.
. A hexagonal prism of side of base 50 mm and axis height 70 mm stands
on one of its ends in HP with two of its rectangular faces parallel to VP. A
circular hole of diameter 40 mm is drilled completely through the prism
such that the axis of the hole is perpendicular to VP and bisects the axis
of the prism. Draw the development of the lateral surface of the prism
showing the shape of the holes formed on it.
. A hexagonal plate of side 20 mm rests on the HP on one of its sides
inclined at 45° to VP. The surface of the plate makes an angle of 30° with
the HP. Draw the front view and top view of the plate.
. A cone of base diameter 60 mm and axis 70 mm is resting on HP on its
base it is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP and parallel to a contour
generator and is 10 mm away from it. Draw the front view, sectional top
view and the true shape of the section.UNIT V
. A regular hexagonal pyramid of base edge 20 mm and height 35 mm
rests on its base on the ground plane with one of its base edges touching
the picture plane. The station point is 30 mm above the ground plane
and 40 mm in front of the PP. The central plane is 30 mm to the right of
the axis. Draw the perspective projection of the pyramid.
. Draw the perspective view of a square prism of edge of base 40 mm and
length 60 mm lying on a rectangular face on the ground, with a corner
on PP and the bases equally inclined to PP. The station point is 60 mm in
front of PP and 80 mm above GL and lies in a central plane, which is
passing through the centre of the prism.
. A cone of base diameter 50 mm and height 65 mm is resting on its base
on the HP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to the VP and inclined at 30
degree to the HP. The plane meets the axis at a distance of 30 mm from
the apex. Draw the isometric projection of the truncated cone.
. A pentagonal prism, side of base 30 mm and height 50 mm rests with its
base on the ground plane such that one of its rectangular faces is
inclined at 45 degree to PP and the vertical edge nearer to PP is 10 mm
behindit. The station point is 45 mm in front of the PP, 90 mm above the
GP and lies in a central plane which is 15 mm to the left of the vertical
edge nearer to PP. Draw the perspective view.
