Dear Parent/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2015 2016 school year! We are looking forward to an exciting
and productive season of learning. Without a doubt, we can expect success for
every child when parents and teachers work together as a team. We have high
expectations for all students academically and socially. However, in order for
your child to do his or her best, communication and a joint effort between home
and school are essential. Below are a list of Bassetts, Third Grade Policies,
Rules, and Procedures, that we ask you to thoroughly discuss with your child at
home.

Agenda Books
Parents and guardians are expected to review their childs agenda book every
night to check for homework assignments and/or teacher notes. This is a very
important home/school communication tool for students, teachers, and parents.

Homework
Homework will be given Monday Thursday in Language Arts/Writing, Math,
Science or Social Studies. Checks indicate work has been done, not graded. All
homework must be completed the night given.

Missed Assignments
When a student is absent, missed assignments will be collected and held in
the classroom at the end of the day. A parent/guardian can pick up the missed
assignment at the end of the school day. When students return to school, they
have the same number of days they were absent to complete the missed
assignment.

Assessments
Quizzes and test are scheduled as each unit is taught and completed. Failed
test are to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned the following day.

We want to thank you in advance for reviewing these policies, and for your
support and cooperation in helping us provide a safe and effective learning
environment for your child.

Sincerely,
The 3 Grade Team
