Welcome

to 6th grade at Overland Trail Middle School!

Most expectations and policies can be found on our school website, in the student handbook, and
on each teachers syllabus. These are the common expectations and policies for all 6th graders.

Lunch & Hallways
Enrichment teachers will walk students to lunchroom everyday. After lunch and recess, kids will
be picked up outside and walked back to the 6th grade hallway.
Because the 6th grade schedule is different from the 7th & 8th grade schedule, we need to be
respectful. Please walk silently, in single file, while keeping your hands to yourself while in the
halls.

Planners & Supplies
Planners are required everyday at OTMS. Students will need to write the homework, objective,
or agenda in their class section everyday (this turns into a grade for Advisory).
Students must also have all necessary supplies for each class everyday. These items are listed on
their summer supply list. Students must also have a free reading book with them for every
available opportunity!

PUPS Pride
Positive I am positive with myself, my peers, and staff, which shows pride in my school and in
myself as a student.
United I work together with my peers in classes and all areas of the building.
Prepared I come to class on time with paper, pencil, and my planner every day.
Safety I am aware of my surroundings and careful of where I am going when moving in the
halls or in a classroom.
Character Traits: Caring, Principled, Reflective, Thinker, Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Risk-Takers,
Balanced, Communicators, & Open-Minded

Thanks for your support and hard work. We look forward to getting to know each of you this year!

Sincerely,
