During the course of this internship I learned about the different components of a
company and saw more of how they all fit together

KB Introduction - The Relationship with HTCC and HTDC


Week 5
Introduced to the entirety of the KB Project
by Brian.
The amount of articles published at this
point was low 20s.
Was shown
the process of the KB article life span
the HTML template
the CSS code
Learning Goal 4
Noticed shortcomings in the KB workflow,
suggested edits
Github integration for easier transferal of articles between writers and for history of
revisions.
Edited the HTML/CSS templates to be simpler, and so Brian didnt have to put so much
work into each article.

KB Writing - The Proposal


Weeks 6-7
Transferred all previously written articles to the new HTML template
Started plugging away at writing different articles, working with Brian (Learning goal 4, 6)

Evolution from KB to HTKC - The Marriage Begins

Scott asked for ability to comment on articles - AnnotatorJS was a start
Scott asked for article revision history - GitHub
Scott asked for comments to be stored locally - getting harder
Scott asked for comments to have name of who commented we need a Database
Result - Ruby on Rails application started
Got annotatorJS plug in
working for the rails app
gave a prototype presentation
to CTO and others.

Saw a lot of my shortcomings here
Hit many walls in my own understandings in which Chris was able to walk me
through by example so I may progress further.

Conclusion - Till death do us part


I am happy with how this internship turned out.
What I have learned in terms of the workforce I believe is a great mindset to be in as I
enter my last year of college.
Diving deeply into building a portfolio of projects that correlate with what I wish to do
as a career
I think I might like to become a graphic designer for UI/UX development
I have learned that clear communication to co-workers is key so that no
misunderstandings take happen
I have learned much in terms of what it means to make a quality software product.
I learned much about the work environment I am most productive in.
Working with Multiple mentors, I learned about how different people work different ways
and learned more of how to place myself into their context to effectively communicate
