THIS IS HOW WE KEEP OURSELVES

A MONTIORING PROCESS TO GUIDE TRADITONAL DECISION MAKING AND VISIONING

VISION: To collaboratively create the beginnings of an Educators toolkit that provides fundamental information about the First Nations people of Canada. My responsibility will be to create

a website that will be imbedded into the Prezzi for educators to use as a resource. We acknowledge there is no definite end to First Nation issues, research and teachings and felt it was
imperative to have a living Resource Centre for our audience.
Short term as this evolves over time we are striving to have our Queens community post any relevant resources they discover during their academic journey and will be welcomed to
utilize the website in module projects or reports. In addition, I will be narrowing my research into Iroquois and Algonquian clan systems within these two Nations and the relevance they
have to teaching First Nation content.

Reflections

Adapted from http://www.inpaspages.com/strategic-objectives-worksheet/

Narrowing down what to focus on was difficult as there are so many considerations that must take place when introducing
Indigenous content. In order to make this relevant to most educators we had to consider what is the most sourced out
knowledge when we are asked to advise, what are people afraid to ask and what will help THEM narrow down where to
begin.
Creating a calendar for the SRL in addition to module responsibilities was a task I wish I had considered earlier as I can now
visually see the work that still needs to be completed and upcoming deadlines.
