This new volume of Matrt Vani, like the
first, is composed of letters dictated in Bengali
by Sri Anandamayi Ma in response to devotees”
requests for personal advice and guidance,
previously published in our quarterly, Ananda
Varta. The first compilation of Matri Vani
appeared in 1959 and an enlarged edition in
1963, It is now in its fourth edition. This
second volume represents a much more
comprehensive selection of Sri Ma's practical
teaching and throws light on several subjects
not touched upon inthe first volume. A few
‘of the pieces in the last chapter as well as one
or two in the other chapters are not from
letters but rather from Ma’s conversation,
noted down and also first published in Ananda
Varta.
