100%$captioning$access$to$all$videos$including$at$the$movie$theater,$on$television,$on$the$Internet,$and$all$other$areas.$Discussion$will$
include$ successes$ in$ legislative$ and$ policy$ efforts$ as$ well$ as$ in$ engineering$ breakthroughs,$ as$ well$ as$ the$ barriers$ that$ remain$ with$

The$ Hawaii$ Civil$ Rights$ Commission$ (HCRC)$ is$ the$ agency$ responsible$ for$ enforcement$ of$ state$ laws$ prohibiting$ discrimination$ in$
employment,$ housing,$ public$ accommodations,$ and$ access$ to$ state\funded$ services.$ $ HCRC$ Executive$ Director$ Bill$ Hoshijo,$
Enforcement$Attorney$Robin$Wurtzel,$and$Investigator$Connie$Yonashiro$will$discuss$these$laws,$the$rights$of$persons$who$are$deaf,$
the$ HCRC$ complaint$ process,$ and$ the$ right$ to$ an$ American$ Sign$ Language$ interpreter$ when$ required$ for$ effective$ communication.$$

There$are$two$types$of$Generational$Deaf$in$the$community,$genetics$and$by$generations.$$A$panel$of$families$who$have$a$history$of$
deafness$will$discuss$the$differences$in$communication$in$their$daily$lives$and$generations$of$deaf$from$youth$to$seniors$will$discuss$the$
differences$ in$ sign$ language.$ $ The$ Generational$ Deaf$ will$ also$ explain$ the$ importance$ of$ a$ qualified$ interpreter$ for$ effective$
