The capsule points to

the patch like the
hands of a clock
positioned at 12:00.
The crescent moon
represents the
upcoming and ultimate
objective, to go to the
moon.
The color scheme of
orange and black
represents the season
in which Gemini 12
was scheduled to
launch. Originally,
Gemini 12 was
scheduled to fly at
Halloween. Due to
delays, however,
Gemini 12 did not
launch until November.

The constellation Columbia (the
dove) was chosen to symbolize
peace on Earth and the Space
Shuttle Columbia.

crew members and honor the
original astronauts who paved the
way to make research in space
