Standard #5: Application of Content The teacher understands how to connect concepts and use differing perspectives to engage learners in critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issues. Name of Artifact: Childrens Book Collection Date: July 14, 2015 Course: EDUC 255 Brief Description: This is a collection and summary of two books that will be able to help the students in my classroom to see some differences in the world, and enjoy the fun books that have been selected as well. With information about the books, and then include an activity to use in conjunction with the books as well. Rationale: This Childrens Book Collection will demonstrate InTASC #5, Application of Content, in that it will show the students that there are many different ways of thinking and growing up. Though we may be different in a lot of ways, we are still all people, and have our own traditions and ways of doing things. We will be able to show how the books might seem like just fun books, but they can actually be related to different people as well.
