The foreground software refers to the software that runs on the boards and the background software refers to the NM software = Foreground software The foreground software exists in the form of the packet, which can be download to the main control board through the NM software. The main control board distributes the foreground software to ather boards and then the software starts to run. = Background software The background software includes OMC and LMT. OMC per- forms the remote operation and maintenance on the system, while LMT performs the local operation and maintenance on the system. NetNum en™ M31 is the registered trade mark of the OMC soft- ware. NetNumen™ M31 can perform the management, oper- ation, and maintenance on all models of GSM/WCDMA BSs, including ZXSDR 88200 GU360 Introduction to Service Board Software The service board software of ZXSDR 88200 GU360 refers to the software that runs on the board to implement the BTS/Node B protocol function of GSM/UMTS. ‘Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION 31. 2XSDR 88200 GUGEO System Description TIE LMT Software Application ‘Scenarios Overview Characteristics Introduction to NM Software Related to ZXSDR B8200 GU360 Introduction to LMT Software Related to ZXSDR B8200 GU360 LMTis the local maintenance terminal. Net= Num en M31 enables the users to manage the network by consider- ing the global network at the same time. NetNumen M31 provides the operators with the centralized management of all professional networks. Through the interface with all professional networks, NetNumen M31 changes the professional networks from the for- mer scattered management mode into the management mode of centralized network topo, centralized alarm, and centralized per- formance. Meanwhile, NetNumen M31 provides the uniform inter- face for the upper-layer application system. NetNumen M31 adopts the technology totally facing the objects Its design is based on the advanced J2E€ platform, NetNumen 31 realizes the integrated access of all NE devices that are manufac- tured by ZTE Corporation. NetNum en M31 realizes the centralized alarm management and the centralized perform ance management on NE, and in addition, NetNumen M31 fulfills the function fo the cross-NE performance data analysis. Compared with NE-layer NM, the advantages of the radio network centralized NM are = It pays more attention to alarm management, performance statistics, and inter-NE configuration management of the global network. = It can manage more, not only the equipment of ZTE Corpora~ tion but also of the third party. = NetNumen™ M31 isin the Client/Server structure. The applica~ tion server sets up the communication with the radio network subsystem, implementing different application requirem ents, The dient only provides the functions of command input and result output for the users. 2 ‘Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION TIER chapter 2 System Description ‘The server can run on both UNIX platform and WINDOWS plat- form, supporting ORACLE database. This structure is enough to meet the performance requirements for the system opera- tion ‘The modulization division of the system software lays a well base for the system expansibility. Different module can run ‘on different machine as required, which can increase the sys~ tem processing capability, The system supports the distributed employment, which brings the convenience in building up the management network on the larger sites, The overall structure design of the system complies with the system structure of TMN prescribed in ITU-T, The system can realized the centralized maintenance and management on multiple types of the radio network subsys- tems, including WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, and GSM. Therefore, it can maintain and manage the following products: RNC and Node B in WCDMA, RNC and Node B in TD-SCDMA, 8SC and BTS in GSM. It supports to access at most forty equivalent NEs The system functions are designed on TMN specifications and 3GPP specifications, Besides the standard management function, the system provides more increment applications for users. The organization method of the functions is: Taking the management object as the core and enhanced assist with different management tools. ‘The whole system supports GUI and the character user oper- ation interface. In addition, it supports the users'MML com- mands. The global network operation status can be monitored through the network topological graph directly. The topological graph can fall into different layers, such as, the global network topol- ‘ogy and the partial topology, The system can display the global network alarms in a centralized way, The alarms can display on the topological graph and on the rack diagram on the real time, in addition, the system can give different visual and au- dio prompts according to different alarm severity. The system can manage the global performance data in a centralized way, too. Therefore, it is convenient for the query, statistics, and the report making. ‘Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION 33 EXSDR 88200 GU3EO System Description TIE This page is intentionally blank, 34 Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION Figures Figure 1 Overall Appearance ........ - 2 Figure 2 UMTS/GSM EDGE Network Structure. 2 Figure 3 ZXSDR B8200 GU360 Compositions....... 5 Figure 4 Star Networking Mode .... 7 Figure 5 Chain Networking Mode .. 7 Figure 6 Ring Networking Mode .. - 8 Figure 7 Star Networking Mode on Iub/Abis Interface .. 8 Figure 8 Chain Networking Mode on Iub/Abis Interface «0.0.0. 9 Figure 9 Relationship between Modules... 21 Figure 10 Software System Structure...... 223 Figure 11 Control Data Flow 224 Figure 12 Service Data FIOW...ccsssssssceseessssseteesvesseeen 2S Figure 13 Relationship of Functional Interface and Physical Interface cee 28 Figure 14 Operation and Maintenance Interface .. 31 Confidential and Proprietary Information of 2TE CORPORATION 35 EXSDR 88200 GU3EO System Description TIE This page is intentionally blank, 36 Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION Tables Table 1 Power Consumption in UMTS Mode (Typical Configuration) .
